...does Riot actually enforce it? I'm just wondering, do they actually monitor IP changes, or does it go off of reports? I was watching this video and I started thinking about it, and I was curious as to how that works, because how do they tell if someone is account sharing? What if someone simply logs in from a different location and plays their account? Or what if someone uses a VPN/Proxy and their IP changes?
They use more than just IP changes to determine boosting/sharing. Basically in-game decisions and chat behaviors and the like. I'm sure you could correctly guess a lot of what they use, but they aren't going to tell us to help reduce the amount of people that slip through the cracks. You could probably trick them into thinking you are sharing your account if you were so inclined.
I think that's against the rules.
But I love that video now.
I think that account sharing, when ranked isn't played, isn't heavily searched for or punished because it doesn't mean a whole lot. If ranked is played, it's a larger priority, especially when one of the players is far better than the other.
I don't think they keep very good tabs on it lol
