A different champ would've been nice, but if any champion was going to get a second Lunar Revel skin, it was definitely going to be Wukong. Lunar Revel is ostensibly a Chinese New Year analogue, and Sun Wukong is a centuries-old Chinese cultural icon.

Pretty sure ur looking at this all wrong. This is a traditional event that is not based on what you believe the other champs need. Lunar Revel is a nod to chinese tradition and based on the Chinese Years... So yeah...

The skin line is a pure nod to the lunar revels, Jinx fits perfectly with it because a large part of the festivities are fireworks, could any other adc shoot fireworks at people and make it fit their characters set without looking weird? sivir throwing fireworks at people (shuriman i know) lucian? (demacian, i know), Wukong was based off of chinese mythology, his kit represents this, that why it transfers so easily into this skin set, (traditional art basis as well, look at when his clone disappears <3) can any champion truly represent it? personally i think the caitlyn/morg skins are barely there, but can you pull off a spiritual concept with other champions? Lunar revel urgot, design that? HOW? there is no way that you can make good looking skins based off a single concept for 50 champions without all those champions being super similar much less over 100!

on this point, Ionia is not china, Demacia is not european dark ages, freljord is not skandivian dark ages, and noxus is not germany, they may have some points of reference derived from there but are not limited to those places, so Ionia isn't "China in fantasy" so saying that all the ionian champs should get chinese skins is like saying all christians go to the same church

ADCs that would look good shooting fireworks? Tristana, Twitch, Ezreal (out of the ones that don't already, like Kog, Jinx, and Corki) Yes, you can pull off spirits with other champion. Tons of other champions. Caitlyn doesn't even fit with spirits. Don't try to defend Riot when there's nothing to defend. I defend Riot on a lot because I understand how things work from a business standpoint, but this is just silly. They didn't need to and shouldn't have released another Wukong skin when one was already made and there are plenty of champions who have the potential to fit the bill.

But they are the most Chinese, and since their theme fits, it would be better to give someone like Karma or Irelia a Lunar Revel skin rather than give Wukong a second one. Good attempt at a straw man, though.

No, they are not chinese, Wukong is based on chinese mythology, yes, but is technically not ionian, Karma is indian mythology NOT chinese, i'm not sure about irelia though,

about ezreal and twitch, how would you make them look like fireworks while keeping in the same character? you have really small rockets really big rockets and the finally, none of them do a DoT which would be hard to do "fireworks" with (twitch) and jinx has a splitting firework which ezreal can't do due to his ultimate, to keep it smooth thematically to character animation is nearly impossible.

Wuk is one of the few i'll actually defend, caitlyn is one of the 100 who doesn't need nor could realistically use the skin, she doesn't even embody caitlyn, she looks stupid as fuck and i hate the skin as much as i hate morgs skin, it doesn't fit them, i find it ugly to watch, they don't look like individual champions they look so generic.

how many changes can you give to a skin besides the skin, particles, recall, and maybe voice or lines? especially on a melee champion who tend to have less particles than ranged champs. sure, you could go to the level of spirit guard but not for every skin. Personally, i love the artstyle they gave the wukong skins's w for instance

Don't get me wrong, this is probably his best skin to date and I can tell they went the extra mile when they game him a unique homeguard animation. But if he got an 1820 RP skin he could have gotten unique interactions, a VO that could have hinted some new stuff in his lore and a new dance animation that isn't just him doing cartwheels. Plus with 5 skins it's very unlikely he will get a 1820 RP skin in the future. I'm just disappointed cause of what could have been.

Same here, I was waiting for a 1820 RP Wukong skin, since I have his every skin, so I wanted something more and new with a VO. When I saw this new skin I was pretty much disappointed, because that meant he won't be getting a legendary skin for a long while now. This one is growing on me though every time I check it out, I like that he's bigger and the clouds animations are cool, like in the story. Still, it could've been a much greater and a legendary skin.

Since we had Harrowing in November, I suggest that Riot free themselves up to explore Lunar Revel in late May or early June. It'll really open up the lore options.

turn around and look at firecracker jinx, go hahahahaha, thats 100% jinx. kind of wished they tried to go for something a little more unique... the bloody moon skins are one of my favorite skin lines, you don't confuse the champions for another yet they all share something while still being true to that champion.

I'm holding a bit of hope since I heard part of a new quote in his skin spotlight (something about "you can't make friends"... item 3070 Amumu ) but yea, another skin that won't change his VO or his death animation. Don't get me wrong, it looks great (might even be his best skin yet) but he was made before unique interactions were a thing, would it kill riot to give him a skin that would give him some? Plus now that he'll have 5 skins, the likelihood of getting a skin like that in the future has been shot down to about 0.

Yea, I think what's happening is Riot is trying to give more "bang for your buck" by adding stuff like extra movement quotes and homeguard animations to new 1350 RP skins and Wu is their first attempt at this.

I wouldn't be surprised since the difference between a 975/1350 is very vague iirc and want to give "more" to warrant the extra 375 RP. I do think the skin looks nice but I am with you and agree it had the potential to be 1820 with a bit more time. Oh well maybe in 2017 :/
