Happy to have you! Whether you’re from Reddit, vBulletin, or just new to League forums I for one want you to have the best time possible here, so I’ve cobbled together this post to help you on your way as you browse through. Keep in mind this platform is still in Beta, meaning that through your perusing you can actually help the Beta Team out by posting feedback about your experience in posting, commenting and other areas within the forum in Site Feedback. Bug reports help immensely!

So we have a fresh start here people. As a personal request from yours truly and nothing more, when you come here you are not coming to another GD, or another Reddit. This place is fresh with possibilities and has the ability of becoming that gaming forum you've always wanted. By contributing here, you are (hopefully) helping the CB take those steps in the right direction. It's up to us as a community to make that happen!

So you may have stumbled across these already but the CB boasts a good arsenal of convenient tools and information. Some of these are easier to find than others, so here’s the ‘road map’.

  1. PvP.net profile link - Change your log-in information and look at the Summoner’s Code. Not new persay, but still useful.

  2. Riot Support Link - Direct link to Riot support, you can check the knowledge base and/or submit a Ticket here. Also not ‘new’ but even more useful than above.

#####What is a ‘Ticket’?
A Ticket (Or Support Request) is a text request to a support employee for Riot. This is an awesome tool to use for specific technical and logistical problems. Essentially, if you need a Rioter’s direct assistance go here and fill out a form. You’re not the only one though, so it may take a while for a response to happen, be patient!

  1. My Updates - The CB has a system in place to directly reply to posts and other comments, and when someone does this to you a little alert will appear here. You can click the ‘My Updates’ link to go directly to a page showing all of your current unread updates.

  2. My Profile - This link will bring you to your own personal CB profile page. Here you can see all of your recent posts and comments, as can anyone else who clicks your name.

  3. Ordering Options - Currently, there are three ordering options available. ‘Recent’ and ‘Best’ are self-explanatory, ‘Hot’ isn’t however. ‘Hot’ ordering factors in number of net upvotes and the time posted to establish its order placement.

  4. Riot Presence - A Rioter has visited this thread! Find out more by going in and looking.

  5. New Comments - When you visit a thread, it’s marked as read with the purple coloring. Any new comments posted in that thread after that point will show up with this yellow marker. You can click this marker to jump into this thread showing only new comments. This is particularly helpful in incredibly popular posts.

  6. Vote Number - This represents how many votes a post currently has. More upvotes means more people that want this post to be seen.

  7. Red Tracker - Ever wanted to know what the latest Riot activity is? This tool shows all recent Riot activity both in the CB and in the vBulletin forums, including posts and comments made.

  8. Server/Region - This shows where a player hails from. The CB has the major benefit of being capable of supporting multiple regions at once. Anyone who’s made a level 1 NA account to browse the Riot forums knows how useful this can be. Try out your main account to see if your region is supported here!

Unlisted) Show as Flat - This option is in blue at the very top of the comments section. If you're not a fan of nested comments, and/or more of a fan of vBulletin style comments, hit that button and watch the magic.

Unlisted) Comment Ordering - Same place and look as the other ordering options. Currently, there is only 'Hot' and 'Recent' Ordering. If, for whatever reason, you do not want the vote count to influence the ordering of the comments, pick Recent. This setting will remain set on each individual post.

  1. Original Poster Indication - If this shaded box surrounds someone's name, it means they are the original poster within the thread. Players have blue boxes, Rioter have red.

  2. Reply - Simply put, reply to that specific comment. Most easily seen when Show As Flat option is not on.

  3. Permalink - Copies the URL of that specific comment into your address bar. In other words, if you copy that address when someone else clicks it they will be directed to the same exact comment.

  4. Report - To be used if a post/comment is found offensive and moderator action needs to be taken.

#####NOT to be used if you don't like the post, that's what the downvote is for

  1. Detailed Red Tracker - This Red Tracker is a bit more focused than the broader out-of-post Red Tracker. This one shows a preview of the Red Comment in order of date/time submitted. This pertains within the post only.

  2. Edit - Self-explanatory, touch up your comment or post with this.

  3. Attachment - Embed not enough? Upload attachments to your post or comment with this button.

  4. Quote - This button will automatically copy and quoteblock all text in an immediate reply.

  5. Comment Jump - Whatever Rioter comment you're previewing at the moment you can jump to with this button.

  6. Rioter Rundown - Ever wanted to see just the red comments? Well that's what this does, it shows all the red comments with the option of seeing the 'parent comment' (the comment the red comment stemmed from).

Not at all currently, but I am going to be applying (again) for a summer internship with Riot alongside any MSE summer opportunities next year.
So maybe there'll be a time where that's actually true. Of course, forum activity by itself is no grounds for employement, so we'll see =D

And it's actually the other way around, I'm applying because of my downright enjoyment of talking about and working around League as a game. That evolved into finding out I actually enjoy formatting and learning about game design, tid-bits of psychology and just talking with the League Community as a whole (yes even the ragers). Then there was the mentioning of a possible internship in Player Relations, it all just kinda seemed to fit. I promise I'm not posting just to pad my Riot app cred, it's out of legitimate enjoyment and interest. =)

That is a very good question. 2bh honest (wow, I really did that) I'm not entirely sure. I know round last Jan I applied for QA and game design, but I had just found out about the program a week or so before the deadline so I had no idea what I was doing.

In the next round I'll probably apply for the same areas with the addition of Player Relations. I asked Rioter Heintzer about the possibility of a Player Relations internship here and he seemed to like the idea. I will admit out of the three I think I'll do my best there.

But I consider myself a jack of all trades person. I've been tinkering with modeling in Autodesk Maya, planning to mess around with Gamemaker and Unity for game design fun, and of course going to be resuming my [Guide] and [Debate] posts now that finals are over and summer has officially begun.

Yes hello I'm new here. Totally never used this place and no one knows me at all. Definitely not part of the Forum Doge Squad or always running around on this place reading and commenting on things. I'm totally not about that life.

On the real though, we need to get a Red to sticky this at the top of the main and each of the sub-communities, or at least have them make a Riot official version of this and sticky that one.

You should also post some important Rioter notes/rioters of note so that people will know where to direct their feedback and/or reports on issues with the CB. I'm sure a few Rioters wouldn't mind having their names on a list to help direct feedback so we don't have the all-too-common "Ironstylus plz nerf Thresh" type of post.

Otherwise, good job. I'm very glad the community has you around.

I was already thinking about doing that actually, have a 1/2 done Word doc and everything! Probably will be part of the 'Booster Kit' Section. I just don't currently feel confident enough on the blurry sections like who exactly is on the Beta team and overall hierarchy and such to have it up just yet. I am working on it though. In fact, I also started a list of frequent community posters and their subjects of choice in that same doc. You and your champ concepts are on there ;)

Wish I could do a 'frequently posted topics' post as well, but that require way too much updating to be reliable with my current self-inflicted workload.

Well I didn't cover it, and I can understand the confusion. The CB is an open beta, meaning anyone can contribute. Literally you posting here is contributing. If you run into any bugs, have some suggestions or simply want to ask questions like this, post into Site Feedback. The closest thing to a private group is the "communityplatform" chatroom in the league client that is occasionally graced by the Beta Riot team.

Im really into the Fan Creation right now. It gives players like me hope and just a peace of mind where I can sit back and get my creative juices flowing. Weather or not Riot sees, it's still a very good outlet.

Fan Creations is by far my favorite sub-comm :)

Rioters that do go there go there quite often I've actually found, but they can't do more than a "that is freakin awesome" or possibly make a PotD. RiotBaconhawk and Riot Girl are two that come to mind. There are great people there.

These forums are rigged as fck. Op's either a complete fool, a RG associate, or a RG employee. You're fooling no one, and everyone in here's probably a RG employee as well while rigging this thread with anti-player down-votes and dissent and pro-RG comments. inb4 down-voted into oblivion because rigged forums are rigged [tinfoiling intensifies]

Post in Help & Support to see if anyone else is having the same problem and possibly get a Rioter's take in it. If you want to get a hold of Rioter ASAP, however, submit a support ticket describing your problem. Otherwise, posting a comment on an introduction thread is probably not the best way to get your problem seen :(

Well replying here is definitely not how you get any form of a skin or champ, I can point you in right direction. You can get Unchained Alistar by subscribing to Riot's Youtube Channel and Riot Girl Tristana by liking Riot's Facebook Page (The second link is to a helpful step-by-step by xRemnant).

Edit: Also, if you do not have the champ for the skin, they will give you the champ for free.
