Prepare yourself for some Katarina Main item 3070 s

I think the rework will make her a lot more fun to play, but I'm expecting those who really like her currently will complain. They won't say this, but the real reason they wont like her now is because she will actually require some brain to play well.

I don't mind her taking more skill. What I do mind is that her dagger is unreliable, slow, and almost rng based. And its basically a "throw everything on this dagger to kill kat" Yeah, Kat takes more brain than most of the champions in this game.I think the words you're looking for are "skillshot accuracy"

You just contradicted yourself.

She did not "take more brain than most of the champions in the game."

She had all single target or AOE abilities, no resource, short cooldowns that she could reset.

I'm not saying that she didn't take any skill, but she certainly was far from the most skill reliant. The issue was that beforehand she had no counterplay.

If she got fed, and you saw her, .. you were dead. There was absolutely nothing you could do to react to her.

Now she requires some set up, which is the dagger part you're talking about.

It is also not rng. It will always land at a fixed distance(or as close as possible regarding terrain) on the opposite side of the initial target hit, and will arrive there in the same amount of time, regardless of how many times it bounces.

And yes, the fact that her enemy is more likely to be able to guess where she is going to Shunpo is further counterplay.

She required brains as to when she could actually engage in a fight. She doesn't just hop in a fight and instakill everybody. Her abilities are simple, but her gameplay pattern, speed, and looking at every single spell used by the enemy in teamfights isn't.

Short cooldowns that you could reset if you got kills* You don't just randomly reset her cooldowns whenever you want.

The same could be said about any other champion. A fed assassin WILL kill you. The difference is, Kat can't kill bulky champions while other assassins like Fizz, Zed, and Ekko can. Kat makes up for that in teamfights.

I said "almost" rng based because it hops where ever it feels like when there's terrain nearby. I just tried it on the PBE in 3 games.

It's counterplay sure, but it's way too much. You don't control where the dagger lands in a teamfight, assuming there are no minions around. If your damage is completely reliant on how stupid your opponents are to step into your dagger, then that's not exactly good.

Basically, make her q a skillshot or faster and less clunky. Reduce damage if that's needed. And honestly, try her out for yourself. It is fun, but it's disappointing because of how clunky it is.

It is a skill shot. You control where it lands by your positioning in relation to the first target (minion, monster, or champion, it doesn't matter) when you click on them. If you want it to land behind them at 0 degrees, you have to be at 180 degrees. If you want it to land at 30 degrees, you have to be at 210 degrees. That is a skill shot. It may not be a skill shot in the sense that you have to aim in order to deal damage, but it does require mechanical skill in order to set up your combo.
