Played against an enemy team containing someone who was in their 10th placement match. Their jungle got shat on and they lost even though he went 18-3 and almost carried. He got placed in Bronze 3. We knew all of this because he let us known in caps lock just before throwing his keyboard against the wall and apparently reporting his entire team.

Let's be real here:

Riot breeds toxicity. Game-breaking bugs, bad matchmaking, horrible rage-inducing ranking system, doing next to nothing about afk/dc/trolling, severely suspect balance decisions... the list goes on.

i don't even know why they bother with placement matches... I go 9 wins 1 loss to be put in silver 5. I mean, if my mmr is THAT bad, why not just start me there in the first place, instead of false hope of being rewarded for try harding. Don't want to play at all anymore.. bleh.

If it's going to be so heavily based off of an entire seasons MMR, I don't believe 10 games are doing much to change the outcome of your division. Maybe the difference between 1 tier at best. I got Silver 2 last season but got Bronze 3 this season. I don't get it, but what can you do. If you know you're better than Bronze, it'll show down the road when you finally make it out. I know people who were Silver with me that got Bronze 5. Also know people who were Bronze 2 and got Silver 2. I think basing it off last seasons ranking is annoying, mainly because it screws out the lower MMR'd people and completely nullifies their prelim matches. This system was implemented for the high MMR'd Plat+ so they wouldn't have to spend so much time in lower ranks if they got unlucky in their prelim's. So in a nuthsell, they are accommodating only the #lcsbigplays people.

the sights and smells of bronze do make me angry

its like having to be in a room that stinks you just cant get that smell out of your nose

are players more or less toxic when they have the safety of a report button? before it, to avoid rage you simply tried to play better "if i dont suck i wont get yelled at" we all said it please dont deny

now people think "if i get yelled at i will report them and forget about it" this did not make the community better, it made them less accountable

basically my opinion is that the report button is in fact toxic

This was set up awhile back when they started giving people silver 1-3 from going 4-6 in placements towards the end of last season. People who got placed in medium to high silver from unranked are going to get really angry when they see they get put in medium to high bronze now for getting the same wins in placements they did last season.

Yeah I don't get it, a friend of mine was silver 3, won 7 of his 10 placements, and was placed in bronze. What? After seeing that, I don't even wanna try.

All the Silvers that got placed in Bronze get mad.

The new Bronzies climb back into Silver.

I won 7 of 10 matches, I was b3 last season, got placed b5 with 0 points this season. I'm confused.

Yea..system is awful. Bronze is worse than I ever imagined. Like...we've all played LoL, we know how bad the trolls are...but my god...I got put in B4, and I don't know if I can go on.

I'd pay 10-15 bucks for an MMR reset and a re-do on placements.

It was hell to get out of Bronze last season. I got to Silver 2 and now I am 6-2 so far in the placement. I am scared that even if I win the last two and end 8-2 I will be put in Bronze. All of you who say that "if you are good you are going to climb up" have no idea of what it is like. Yes, you can climb up, but AT WHAT COST?

This new ranking system is garbage, no way around it. Whoever thought of this should be kept far away from it in the future. It feels like everyone just got shoved into bronze and silver and now people who should be in gold and plat are having to experience elo hell all over again.

Fucking tired of having half of my winning matches relying on me doing half of my team's damage and going 15/3 or something like that.

MMR wasn't reduced as much as people think, and placement match results aren't as important as people think. The real issue is a lack of clarity because Riot loosened the tier/divisions (and removed MMR clamping) so that peoples' MMRs could vary a lot more. Most of the people complaining have MMRs way below their previous tier/division rank, like bronze MMRs in high silver and such.

I know someone who was plat III last season, and they just finished as Plat III right now... so the Placement matches aren't anywhere as bad as people claim them to be.

Reset means you go down regardless of your placements anyway... I don't why everyone is so damn butthurt. If you really do get placed much lower than where you belong, it should be really easy to carry yourself out. My placements brought me from G3 to G5 because I had some fairly good matches. Back up to G3 about 7 games later because it let me skip G4 entirely lol.
