Remember when mages went mid?

I miss those days and I don't even play mid. I just get tired of seeing the same few champs. When I do see a mage mid, he is getting his ass handed to him 9 times out of 10 by you know who. I will never understand why Riot went in this direction. Between what is popular and what is viable, there seems to be very little variation.

Is it just me? I'm too lazy to look up the stats but based on the threads I figure I am not alone. It really has me looking forward to Overwatch. But you get what you pay for. I knew my enjoyment wouldn't last forever. LOL has turned me into a META hater after all. There is a problem when people keep picking the same handful of champs. Do we still have 100 + champs cause it doesn't feel like it. OH WELL.
