So I hate Sona. She's boring to play (for me at least) her kit is lackluster with one HUGE skillshot which should be impossible to miss and the rest of her kit literally is the most braindead abilities ever other than maybe udyr. She is the truest definition of faceroll in that she follows people around and if anything happens they just start slamming random keys.

as a sona main since s4 i'd say this is true.
To be fair, the R can be missed and I feel horrible when I do. But with an easy kit, she's a little hard, A little. Spamming skills a fast as I can isn't as easy as you think. Managing powerchord is also hard, especially in a teamfight. But should Sona be hard? No. A champion can be easy and strong, you shouldn't need to be hard just to be strong.
Similar thing with Kayle and Azir, why play Kayle when Azir is stronger for a number of reasons. Because she's easier. Imagine if Kayle was as insane as Azir was right now, you'd be asking for Kayle to be nerfed, but not Azir because the difficulty masks his power.
But you're not wrong though, she is by definition of a face roll champ.
Saying a champion has no skill doesn't mean anything. So stop treating it like it's a fact. True, there are more mechanical champions than her, such as Thresh, but they two completely different champions.
There is thought that goes into every champion, whether you think it or not, so to prove a point, how about you slam some random keys on Sona and see how well it works for you?
Maybe if you would have said something useful like, "I found a way to counter Sona" or "Sona is easier than most champs because:" then I may have agreed with you if your explanation was better than, "She is boring."
Contribute something to the forum instead of your opinion, and if she is SO bad that you need to make a post of it, then give some facts and statistics.
Give me feedback, contrast her play style to other champions and tell me why she requires no skill, play a game with her, then tell me why she takes no skill to play in statistical terms.

You're not wrong. Sona's skill floor is 5 ft. below the ground and her skill cap is.... the ground. One of the reasons she's impossible to balance is that there's no inherent difference between a first time Sona and a Sona main.
Sona is the easiest champion in the game because she walks toward a person and they take damage.
You walk towards a person and they heal
You walk towards a person and they get faster.
People say udyr is easy. but atleast he needs to get to you to attack you (which takes skill to not get kited)

She's definetly not very mechanical but using the right buff for you auto and the ulty atleast take some skill. Though not much.
I would say that the hardest part is managing what passive you use in team fights and on who.
I think that is the main reason she is so good in ARAM.
Sona is an extremely easy to pick up champion and her abilities are clear cut. It isn't like other simple champions such as 
who can dodge attacks with Alpha Strike and AA cancel with meditate.
The epitome of Sona mechanics is to know when to use Power Cord Q to poke, W to shut down carries, or E to slow (occasionally). For the most part, she can just press random keys and only worry about the last key she press before AAing.
However, it is fine that she is one of the easiest champions to play with her current kit. Sona is weak in a solo lane, and she needs to manage her mana carefully early on because her spells don't individually do much. Sona does not 100-0 you while stunning you at the same time by pressing a mindless rotation.
Easy champions such as 
on the other hand is a problem. Her combo is not that difficult to pull off, and often times there is no counterplay other than stacking MR.
Sona is fine being easy as long as her kit does not do anything crazy.

I actually agree with you. Not questioning why some people like her as a lot of people prefer passive lanes like sona's. And while she can make some huge plays with that Ulti the rest of her kit is really REALLY boring to me.
A mechanically simple kit allows the player to focus on not getting caught out and who is in the most danger. Who is the most dangerous immediate threat. It is very much not button mashing. Lets say the enemy adc is looking to fight and you know if you q power chord youll do enough damage for you team to follow up with the kill, but the khazix is also looking to go in. Now in one instant kha zix can jump on your adc and kill them instantly. If you use you w power chord when he goes in he'll do no dmg and give you team the kill. Since you dont know what power chord youll need you should wait for kha to go in then immediately ult him q power chord the enemy adc then exhuast khazix then build w power and use it on whoever is doing the most damage at that. Anyway as I sona you have some balls posting this. I was tilted immediately like an animal. Sona mains get reaaaal angry man lol.

The weird part is that like during 80% of teamfights I can get away with just facerolling without any noticeable difference in the outcome. I've failed flash ults to the point that they act as better teamfight initiation than if I actually landed them.

I played a game of Sona a couple games ago and shaco kept flaming me for KSing but really I was just mashing buttons. Like not even smart mashing like "I'm playing katarina and there are 5 low health enemies all grouped up in front of me" mashing. He damage is retarded and auto-aimed, her heal and speed boost are two of the easiest abilities in the game... the only thing I think that outed me as a noob sona player was my horrendous use of her ult, since I use smartcast I didn't really know how long it was, which lead to a couple embarrassing moments xD

You aren't wrong. You forgot claiming that she was OP.
The only real reason I would play Sona anymore is just for those sweet DJ sona jams.
