After this weekend, my love for URF is slowly dying.

You see, I've been playing for a little over 4 years now, and yes, I still suck. Regardless, I remember when URF first came out, it was the greatest feeling I had ever experienced. I couldn't wait to play it back in the day, because it was something new, and fun.

I remember making a post begging for it to be permanent 2 years ago. What a mistake. I also remember the glory day of dominion, back when it was popular, and yes, it was popular at one point.

Queues were about a minute for it, if that. And after a few months of it, the hype started to die off, and people returned to the rift. You may be wondering what relevence that fact has, and let me explain.

People got burned out from dominion, and stopped playing it because it was the same experience repeatly, people would constantly pick the same annoying champions, ones with stealths or a lot of CC, and just make the gamemode anti-fun for a lot of people. You can only handle so many shacos.

I had a scarily similar feeling to back then this weekend while playing URF. I don't want to say it, but if URF is going to be a monthly thing, It's as good as dominion. And by that, I mean its DEAD.

If something doesn't change between now, and this time next year, and Riot does decide to do it monthly? oh boy.

I'm not saying URF is bad, I love the gamemode to death, its actually what I started playing the game for again, and managed to get sucked in after a short break back in season 4, but I would really rather not see it die out, because sure, its an awesome way to release salt and stress from ranked and such, but with the amount of ragers and toxic players I saw this weekend, I'm getting a little worried.

Not to mention, the Anti-fun champions.

Oh, the dark ages with Kass spammers. It's almost like a lack of balancing attention results in stagnation! Unfortunately, Riot seems to think this concept only applies to SR, as every other mode is essentially left to fend for itself.

I sorta hope Riot doesn't balance/change URF, as Treeline and ARAM are much more in need of balancing. At least the limited availability will help keep URF somewhat fresh. Of course, ideally Riot would pay at least some attention to every mode. However, in the realistic scenario that Riot only doles out the minimum support, it'd be preferable for those resources to go towards the permanent game modes.
