Make a game as part of the final project. It is mandatory that we make a game, and we must follow PSP0 and PSP1 software engineering practices. The game must be written in java and we have a couple weeks to finish it.

What game should our team make?

I know for a fact that I can set up a 2d graphics with sprites kind of game, as I've got plenty of experience doing that. But what KIND of game? Shootemup? JPRG? Platformer? Puzzle?

Wat kind? Wat game rules?

Gimme your ideas. Once it is all done and graded I'll share the source with you.

Gotta love game development.

Hmmm, stealth based games are always a great challenge that relies heavily on ingenuity and clever application of mechanics. How about it's switched around? The player is the light source and the enemies are the ones stealthing. Maybe make the player control a museum night guard armed with nothing but a flashlight against an ancient evil released in said museum? Core mechanic: you cannot move while re-directing your flashlight, and have to keep your light in that chosen direction while you move. Tricky but imho fun.

Something a little less tricky (as you only have two weeks) is something silly but simple. Rolling log balancing game. 2-player. One controls the log's spinning direction, the other controls a person on top of the log. Later on you could add things like obstacles on the log (that appear as it spins around) and random power-up pick-ups for the player.

Best of luck to you guys!
