I would like to get the community's Opinion on this.

During champion select, I was banning, everyone said all their roles, I said I was gonna take mid. The 4th player down, said "mid only" almost right away after I said that. Once I picked my champion (Thinking he's only using that as a scare tactic and will play another role), he said "Now I'm gonna troll". He picked zed and said "double mid", than he said he only picked zed because of his passive to steal all the cs and that he didn't even play zed. I told my team I wasn't going to let him get away with it because I'm guessing he does this all the time and screws people's games over, everyone was fine with it and agreed. When the game starts, we were all surprised that the zed was diamond last season and that he actually made it that far doing this.

The game starts, the adc and top goes mid as well. The zed steals all the farm, and when he had a chance to take tower, he refuses to take the turret. He just sits back and spams taunt. When he is able to help, he just sits back and does nothing but taunt.

During the game, Sivir is bummed because she tells us how she will lose her series if they lose.

We ended up losing the game.

So, my question is, did I do the right thing by going mid and trying to teach the zed a lesson? Or did I do the wrong thing by screwing up Sivir's series and should've just let zed go mid?

I would the community's opinion, and if y'all could upvote so we can get other's opinion's in here, that'd be great.

Impossible situation that everyone will have any opinion about and everyone is right and everyone is wrong. In those instances I will honestly eat it for the team and go to another lane, in spite of having a high win rate with my mid champs. I think the right thing to do is communicate, if someone says they are only skilled at that lane, let them have it.

I will often tell my team when I am 4th or 5th pick what my preferred lanes are because I know I'm shite at ADC. I will still play ADC if no one else will. In my opinion the right thing to do is be a team player - and then after the game report the player for refusing to communicate with team as team select terrorism isn't a good behavior to have.

There's no simple answer, but communication is key. You called your role, and you played what you called - there's nothing necessarily wrong with that. You both communicated your intentions and played to Pick Order in the case of conflict. Those are both positive and acceptable actions.

Zed's misconduct was certainly out of line.

That said, here's how I would have handled it once the game actually started:

I would have started by going mid - after all, if I'd called it and resolved it, it's what's expected of me. If he followed, I'd attempt to communicate the concern to him via pinging and polite comments. After a wave or two of stolen farm, I'd back, trade my Doran's for a gold item and then head to whatever position Zed left open.

The purpose, there, isn't to reward him, but rather to avoid him - he's shown himself to be a jerk, and I don't like dealing with that. As the game goes on, I'd do my best to win, backing up my teammates and keeping involved, with a single exception: I would completely ignore the Zed.

There's two reasons for this. First, troll players often try to bait others into bad situations, and I don't want to fall for that. Second, I'd rather avoid him in general - he's shown himself to be a jerk, and I don't like dealing with that.

But that's all my approach. Your mileage may vary. Regardless, as long as you were trying your best to win, you did what you could.
