I'm Seriously considering getting myself addicted to WoW

This game is just going down the tubes fast.

It's not even the occasional trolls or afkers anymore.

Lately it's been near every queue i get someone saying they will afk/troll and following through.

I mean I don't mind it being every once in awhile but this isn't even playing a game anymore its just waiting 20 minutes to queue again in hopes the off chance people actually give a shit.

So hopefully I won't go to WoW cause i tried trial and think it's fun but addicting. Fix the trolls before I get screwed by an mmo :3

Also im plat 2 so ive been at what is supposed to be considered mid level more serious play

Yea they dumbed down WoW so much I quit that shit because of it. I was a starting player back when it was beta. Those were the best days for that game as it took skill and combos to be good. Now it is a button masher that a kid can play.

I was seriously thinking the same thing...DO people even take ranked seriously anymore???? And I find myself playing this game less and less, because of the idiots.

Yeah I think people still take ranked seriously. You must be at a bad part of the ranked ladder where there are more trolls. I wouldn't be surprised if you said like silver or plat because I have heard those are very trolly. I am only bronze three and I want to climb out. I don't really get matched with trolls, just the occasional afk. I also get matched with people who are actually really bad.

Ranked is about 50% skill, 40% team skill ( other 4 players ), and 10% luck. If you can win lane and transfer that to other lanes, that is the skill. Team skill is your team not feeding and winning their lanes. And luck is getting teammates who don't afk, troll, or are just bad.

I'm stuck in bronze, and I have climbed up the ladder so many times just to be knocked down by unskilled, trolls, or afkers. Riot does nothing to fix this flawed system either. Yesterday I kept getting teammates who were fresh 30's like they literally came from bots and think because they can q for ranked that they should. Our jg admitted that he had never played Rek'sai, and didn't know anything about jg. It was a HUGE waste of my time, and then these noobs refused to surrender after they all fed.

Riot would be well-advised to do a better job with placements and nip this problem in the bud. Currently, placements are a crapshoot, where unplaced players' MMR swings wildly based on their performances playing with and against... unplaced players. Then, when these players end up far from their actual MMR, the placed players still have to deal with it.

I realize someone has to fall on the grenade of playing against the unknowns that are in their placement matches, but it should honestly be players with well-established MMRs, as it gives a better reliability for the placement. Additionally, the k-factor (amplitude of MMR swing) is smaller for established players, meaning you add less noise to the other team's MMR when making them play against the unknowns.

All that said, I don't think you're going to find a fix to your specific problem. In fact, Riot's restriction of ranked to players of level 30 already does a lot in preventing truly green players from entering ranked. The best you can hope to do is ensure that the matches are balanced, which I believe starts with placements.

it just creates no fun. I mean i remember around season 1-2 it was amazing. People took the game seriously or at least somewhat. And at plat (before there was diamond) people played as hard as pros

I miss those days. When this game was new and fun to play. Now it's so popular 12yrs olds and under have started to play. A peer even admitted that she lets her 8yr old play.....seriously this is prolly half the players in lowere ELO's.

don't play wow the graphics on that game are ancient and it's grindy as crap. play tera, way better combat system, way better graphics.

Yeah, the trial of WoW was pretty fun...until I got to about level 18 and you had to run for legit 15 mins in order to do the next thing. It got really boring really quickly for me lol.
