[Feature Request] Never Give In

So yesterday I played a game where our Talon literally gave up in champ select. at 20 minutes, and every 5 minutes (or whatever the interval is) thereafter, he tried to surrender. I'm sure many of you have experienced the frustration of a teammate who won't stop trying to surrender, no matter how well you're doing.

Maybe it's just me but on principal, unless it's superbly obvious we don't have a chance to win (3v5, 78 kills to 14, etc) I hate to surrender. And it gets annoying and distracting when the surrender option pops up every 5 minutes.

I'd like to propose that Riot implement a "Never Give In" option for players who pretty much never surrender. By toggling this choice in the options, it automatically votes no for you when a surrender vote comes up, without interrupting your game with that annoying little window. You can turn it off or on any time you want, so you're not locked-in to never surrendering.

Just a suggestion that would improve the game a bit IMO.

The only problem with this is when people are not having fun anymore and a surrender is a good option. Yes I too get very annoyed by the people who go "/ff ffs, nub" at first blood and they need to grow up and try but there are also times when a game is truly lost and everyone would be happier to end it sooner. If someone forgets they have "auto-no" enabled (which imho would be a lot of people) then another 5 minutes of t-bagging and dancing can be had by the winning team and no one is having fun.

Now if you suggested something like limited amounts of surrenders, like 2 per person, so someone would actually have to think about popping the vote instead of spamming it I would be more inclined to agree with that.

I used to hate surrendering as well, but then I learned to realize when the game is lost.

There is no point in dragging on a game just because your personal ego is getting in the way.

The reasons why I wouldn't want a 'Never Give In' option:

  1. You will have to remember to turn it off before a game that you may surrender if things go bad since it automatically votes no. Honestly it is a waste of code.

  2. You could fix this issue with a longer wait period between surrender votes like 10 or more minutes usually the game will be over by that point.

  3. I do believe but may be wrong, if you don't click 'yes' or 'no' it automatically registers as a 'no' vote anyways.

Not a bad idea imo, after all, Riot caters to those who wish to have the option to surrender, why not give something to the brave ones who decline when they have the fire to push for a win against the odds. To keep things balanced however, I think that if a surrender has been requested by the same player, or at least enough times overall, then there should be an override so that trollers who want to watch a team suffer do not have all the power. Basically a fail safe mechanic that allows the team majority to overrule a player's Never Give In status. But make it a large number so it is less appealing to troll and force players to surrender and accept a defeat too easily.item 3060
