Because I hated dynamic queue so much, once I got to gold last season, I pretty much stopped playing. I'd play a ranked game maybe once a month after getting to gold, but the pretty much non-existent impact I had in games compared just demoralized the hell out of me. Dyanmic queue was pretty much decided by which team had the better premade; that team gets to win.

But apparently, not playing ranked for extended periods of time makes your MMR decay a good deal. When I finally got around to doing my placements, I got put into bronze 2. I haven't been bronze since season 3. I can't wait till everybody else finishes placements so I can actually start playing against bronze players. I can already imagine their reaction when my tanks and bruisers bulldoze through the glass cannons that they think are the only way to climb.

Don't be. They've made adjustments to help match making and the placements and ranked games now only serve to help correctly set the MMR's in flex queue for the soft reset in patch 6.24. I believe you'll have to redo your placements at that time anyway. Also - Ive been getting 25-28LP per win and advanced from B4 to B2, skipping a rank step. So climbing back up isn't that bad currently.

That's because your soloq mmr has nothing to do with flex queue placements. Those are fresh start placements.

This isn't quite true. It DOES effect your placement but EVERYONE is placing much lower than they had been at. Proof of concept: I went 7-3 and got Bronze 4 (with 2 games S rank and a few A rank). VoyBoy went 7-3 and got Plat 1.

There was no solo queue mmr in 2016. If there was, that would mean there was a solo queue. And if there was a solo queue, that means I would have actually played ranked for more than 4 months.
