Question about the void.

So are void related champions total monsters with no feelings or what?(I haven't really read that much about void). What I want to ask is that are all void champions on their own. None of them are friends or anything? Is Malzahar still any human or has the void consumed him whole? I know that Kassadin isn't evil but Malzahar is, and what I'm wondering is if Malzahar still has human feelings too, how doesn't he ever get bored if he has no friends?(I get it it's just a game but lets act as if it all was real). Or does he play with pet voidlings for fun like humans play with dogs/cats and other domestic animals? :D
