Why does drag make a sound the enemy team hears when you take it?

I don't quite understand why the other team needs to know when you sneaked drag. What is the idea behind that? If they don't have it warded, they shouldn't know that it was taken! But drag makes a map-wide sound audible by both teams when it gets taken which gives you a timer. I don't see the point!

I miss the ominous feeling of heading to ward the dragon pit to see if it was taken or not.

They don't get the timer, that's the penalty.

Otherwise, they can either click you or hit tab to see if you got the stack. Unlike jungle camps, Baron and Dragon are neutral map objectives so they're broadcasted a little more openly.

And rule of cool, don't forget that. It's epic as hell.

I honestly agree here.

It's a null point in the game now as the buff us advertised. You may not get the exact timer but you'll get a close idea by noticing when a laner has a new stack.

Old Dragon gave gold. It was sneak-able and you had to actually check that it was taken. New Dragon is too obvious... The timers really reduced the objective control skill component.

Because Riot has been implementing anti snowball policy since s4.

All threads whining about snow ball, one of many Riot solutions were this.
