5 Player Ranked Can Co-exist With Dynamic Queue

Clearly Riot thinks that dynamic queue is the correct evolution for League. For better or worse, I don't think anything will dissuade them from holding that opinion, and I'm inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Due to incessant community feed back, they altered the structure of ranked queues to protect the integrity of the solo queuer's experience. As someone who is very competitive, I think this was an excellent decision and I'm very happy about . They gave us a true solo queue and removed the ranked 5s queue. I don't understand this at all and I'm not so happy about it.

Assuming our ranks are the same from last season and carry into group queue, there will no longer going to be a way to play ranked with my favorite group of League friends (they are the only League friends I have who I spend time with in real life) because we are too spread out across divisions.

The whole reason ranked is so successful is because the ranks motivate competitive people, like me and my friends. I don't need to extol the virtues of ranked queues to Riot or anyone on the forums. But, as it stands, I will no longer have a way to play ranked with them at all. I completely understand not allowing us to queue together in solo queue because I'm plat and they're silver, or even in dynamic queue. I think the changes are incredibly healthy for solo queue from a competitive standpoint. But dynamic queue, the tagline of which was something like "the best way to play league is with friends," is taking something away from me and my friends in this case, and that doesn't make much sense to me.

Riot, you've said that something like 96% of 5 person parties in dynamic queue are matched up with other 5 person parties. It is essentially already its own queue. You said that you will roll out support for ranked teams in the future this year, and I hope that will include a way to build a somewhat limited roster and earn shared rank together, despite what our individual ranks may be. It seems to me like it shouldn't be too hard, and mixing in teams of 5 is a much better solution than setting solo queuers adrift in the system.
