PSA: Honor people for sticking it out when the game's not hopeless
I just had a game where our Illaoi, who wanted to ADC for some reason, went AFK the entire game, leaving me as Nami to lane against Caitlyn and Sion. After doing much better than I thought I'd do (getting kills when I figured I'd just end up straight up feeding) we figured we'd try to make a comeback eventually, so we stuck it out defending our Nexus for nearly half an hour, getting kills against them to the point where we could build somewhat fully and try to make a comeback. We took Dragon a couple of times, tried to take Baron and failed, and that's when they eventually won. But, my team and I played their hearts out that game, keeping them off the turrets and inhibs as long as possible and coordinating our defenses to the best of our abilities. More importantly, no one really raged in chat about the situation or tried to lower the team's morale, which is something Riot drum on about over and over again so I won't really get into that as much.
After the game was over and we all GG'ed, I, like an idiot, forgot to give anyone honors. Maybe it's because I've gotten so used to having games where giving them out really wasn't warranted, but I felt bad afterwards about not recognizing everyone's (even the enemy team's) efforts that game. Sure, it was a really one-sided game, but it was without a doubt the most fun game I've had all year, where I didn't really feel silly about going all-out tryhard mode to get us to win.
Honor people when they really deserve it. It's there for a reason.
