Smooth move, Ferguson. You just gave "them" more gold than you received. Let me guess, there are a lot of people that do this and all feel totally justified.

You don't always give them more gold than you get. If you're significantly behind, it's pretty worth.
Shutdowns?
A 1 for 1 is usually a good idea if you are taking out a more important champ - have less HP to start - are out of mana - if you scale better. Theres all kinds of reasons 1 for 1s are good. A 1 for 1 on a gank is always good because that leave a champ in the lane to push and take the tower which becomes a 1 for 1 + tower. Most of the time 1 for 1 tower dives are attempts at being 1 for 0's too.
