Positive play reward system

I feel that Rioters have made a big deal about positive play and being a nicer player, but this mystery gift thing is the first time I have ever seen them reward players for their benevolent nature beyond giving them a "good job" ribbon. I am not complaining about the mystery gift thing, that was a heartwarming-ly generous move. I just think that if a player regularly receives honors and has a long span between being judged against in the tribunal, there should be a mechanic that, perhaps, grants said player extra IP per game for this. Maybe if the player has been the model of a good player for a long time in this manner, maybe a bonus percentage for RP bought (nothing crazy, maybe a 10% increase on the base). I just think that if you want to encourage a nicer community, the punishment for failure to be nice is fine, but you also need to reward nice people on a regular basis.

You may have missed the 4-win IP boost that was awarded to positive players shortly after the end of the season.

If that's the case, I'd assume you also missed Lyte's discussions about plans for more regular positive play rewards in the coming season. Last I heard was something like an IP boost monthly for players that hadn't received sanctions, and possibly something larger on a slightly longer scale.

I like the IP concept - innocent and not too damning to their cash flow, I would assume. My only comment otherwise is that there has been a lot of "you shouldn't reward people for being good people, that's sort of expected of them". But idk, all psychology and sociology aside that would be a nice little bonus :D

Yeah, I get where it is coming from in general, but I agree about the competitiveness thing. +1
