So what has changed with honor so far outside of "You Get Stuff"?

I know it hasn't been out long but I'm seeing no change in behavior. I've yet to get a single honor win or lose on both accounts. Most people just skip the honor screen that pops up and don't honor anyone (especially if they lose, which is some salt right there).

I know the purpose of it, I know it hasn't been out long, but it doesn't seem I'm seeing anymore honors than I did before. It really doesn't help that you can only get ONE for some pointless reason. So instead of seeing 2 teamworks and an honorable opponent or something, I see nothing at all. Carried 2 games on my other account with 11+ kills and 2 and then 3 deaths. Not a single honor, not a GG after the game. No one seems to actually care sadly, and again I know it is early, but it is a bummer seeing people not seeming to care much more now than they did before.

Yo! From what I've seen monitoring the system, we're not actually seeing a lot of people skipping the honor screen. It's worth noting, though, that you will only be able to see the honors that you've received. However, if someone on either team receives 3 or more honor,s you'll see it highlighted on the scoreboard.

Any data you might be able to share regarding if some roles are more honour prone than others?

My ultra-early impressions is support might be most likely to get honoured, as they're the ones quietly saving the day (and/or their teammates), and while they might not get much in-game recognition, post game teammates might be 'ah yeah, they totally saved me that time, have a gg'.

I will doubt that.

Poeple don't like playing support because every thing they care about is the damage they will do during the game. Playing for someone else to do that is against their nature, they want to be the alpha male (there is a reason behind the support main are nice guy/girl meme)

So, with the honor system, what will the "alpha male" do, honor the support (same for tank player) who do useless stuff in their eyes or one of the damage dealer of the game who do what manly poeple do?

In higher elo, the support is the Alpha.

I dunno, I am usually the "Team leader" and I main support. I faff around on top and such on this account, but when I'm playing seriously (with a team and such for example), I play support almost exclusively, and I can be plenty aggressive and "alpha male" on support.

I mean who is really in charge, the one guy out of probably 2-3 "doing the damage" and "getting kills" or the one guy who is actually starting the fights and leading the charge so their teammates can feel better about themselves with that big damage bar after the game? Though I DO agree that those types will still only honor other dps, because again, while I see it differently, most people ignore the support, and most assuredly don't honor them, given you can only honor one person now.

yeah that's the problem basically, if you do good, you will make at least 1 of your carry do good, so increase the chance the other laner who didn't saw how you save/engage for him in earlygame will vote for him because of his succes alone.

but on the other end, if you do good but your marksmen/artillery mage do bad, there is a huge chance that bot, as a duo, will not be honored

Most likely kills will be honored first because lul k/d/a.

I mostly play support, and I can tell you that isn't the case so far at all. Honestly that hasn't been the case for the past few years either.

You get tons of kills and all that? You are more likely to get honor. You support, do your "job". No one notices unless you die or you "stole" their kill.

YO BUDDY! Listen, this is my first day using the honor system, i decided to close an eye and forget about that kid with a 97 in his nickname that threatened to hack my account because i pointed out that he was afk walking despite me harcarrying him as support and managed to get pushed in despite building runaan first (which is wrong in case you don't know) and didn't literally lasthitted the kills i spoonfed to him but sadly i couldn't get myself because of him i had to waste my flash earlier and then told me that i was a retard. I also decided to forget about that game where i took top inhib as yorick jungle with herald at 15 minutes and my teammates managed to intentionally feed until the game dragged up to 40 minutes (the ignored super minions even managed to take a nexus turret, and no, even if soulcrushed wants to nerf yorick early game because bronze V tried to facetank his minions or because his jungle clear is "too fast" despite him having no pressure early so the things balance eachother, doesn't mean that he needs to be shyvana'd because bronze V (read: any elo below at least D2) finds too mentally challenging handle splitpush even if your own team is afk walking and providing no pressure whatsoever and the even insult you id you dare to point it out and ask for cooperation). And i also decided to put behind me that game where as trundle i managed to take second tier turret bot, inhib turret, inhib and kill the enemy ashe that came to ~~suicide~~ stop me but got accidentally 2-shotted because she tried to 1v1 a juggernaut melee and of course trundle is too broken and needs nerfs, when my inting team managed to win a teamfight because the brother enemy team ~~suicided into them~~ got masterfully outplayed, and then they recalled even if the only survivor was coming to stop me (otherwise i would have taken the nexus) and when i pointed out that they should have pushed mid they called me a "freakin' idiot" because they were all low and they couldn't clearly push, but i was a feeder because i got killed by the enemy 21/9 kata that was allowed to come and kill me.

It's ok man, it's all things of the past, no biggie. :)

But, as the first day and first game of the reworked honor system, i got matched with a 0/13 inting rammus top that NEVER ulted a single time during the whole game, NEVER pushed his wave despite having plenty of aoe, and on top of that he started to steal my jungle and when i told my jinx to farm my jungle because she desperatedly needed a last whisper because she was dealing 0 damage he started farming even harder; A talon mid that despite snatching a couple of kills in lane inted several kills by standing still in lane or tanking turret or spamming dance 1 hp and getting Q'd by the enemy zed; Jinx that refuses to listen to me because i'm a meanie noob jungler that never ganks™ and keeps going down the path of guardian angel despite being too late to build it and i even offered my own farm to her since she was underfarmed with runaan and rockets, but no, no good, she just didn't wanted to build it. (and i even accidentally honored her because i'm a goddamn idiot, but you know, i wanted to try the new stuff thingie) (oh i got no honors despite singlehandedly carrying that game splitpushing for days that if trick2g could see me he would have awarded me the gold medal of splitpushhood)

I mean, what are you guys up to? I know league is a mass-scale way to brainwash the public and a social experiment, but i mean, cmon man, why can't you guys just leave us bitter nerds losers alone and let us enjoy our escapism from reality?

PS: I also found that we lack a very important feature, the possibility to honor the players on the enemy team for being "Brothers", you know, when your team is so useless that the enemy team is more helpful than your own peeps. :p

I already did a 5-week pause because i had extreme packet loss and not only i couldn't play the game properly but also it was impossible for me to download the patch, now hopefully the problem is fixed, thank you for your concerns though. I don't need time off, i just need people that are here to actually play the game you know, like the good old days...

I've played since early season 1.

I've noticed no more of an increase in bad players than what is to be expected by the player base being 100000x bigger than it used to be.

If everybody starts at honor level two for each season, shouldn't we get a little boost since we're already halfway through this season? It doesn't give us much time to level it up since the videos said "it levels up as the season progresses".

I think the point is to make people want to try to win and troll less in hopes for honors. Obviously it might not always work out like that, but it is a good start.

Now the stuff that you get has some monetary value, so people will probably try to be nicer. In the previous system there were only ribbons, but now there are tangible rewards like Key Fragments, Skins, and Shards, and they're probably easier to get than ribbons. Hopefully people will be trying to get these rewards and be nicer in the process.

As with any other new system, I think you should wait at least a few days in order to let people get used to new honor. I think Riot aims at encouraging people to not be punished since it lowers your honor level and thus you can't get some rewards, but it's something that will show mid-long term, you can't really expect to just turn a switch on and people magically stop trolling, player perception and culture need to change, and it takes time, the system merely gives rules and direction for it.

Also, you can only give one honor, but you can recieve up to 4 (one from each team member).

As said, wait a few days, maybe a week, and then maybe you'll start seeing some difference

Dw, RIOT alrdy has an incentive in place where if the whole team honors someone at least they all get slightly closer to next honor level, even if they themselves weren't honored.
