Chat Restrictions Out of Control

HitYouInTheFace·11/28/2014, 5:34:30 AM·1 votes·1,299 views

Hey all,

Just had a question about how the chat restriction system works. I seem to get them very often and they are ever growing. I dont claim to be a saint, but I also tend to think I am a positive force on my team, telling my team we can still win even in a losing situation.

No matter what though, I seem to be getting chat restrictions constantly from the system and it is snowballing. Just wondering if something else will be implemented soon w/ a more personal touch so Riot can judge me based off fairness, not based on numbers and a computer.

In the mean time, I will obviously be planning to try to be EXTRA nice and possibly just not talk in games. Da struggle? :3

Best,

TRYING to be positive is different than actually being positive. Asking players to do better is different than giving them a tip on HOW to do better. There are always ways to communicate positively and many many players do not know the difference.

Would you prefer if I told you" "Stop feeding!"

Or if I said: "Hey, I noticed you are doing XYZ that results in you dying alot. If you were to do XYZ differently, it may help you"

One of those statements is insulting, the other is an observation and correction. Failing to acknowledge and learn from the latter is at your peril. But Riot punishes those who do not leave a player to make his own decision on whether or not to learn from his mistakes.

ya I just posted to find out why I got a 56 game chat ban. I spend the majority of my time begging and pleading with my team to do better and stop feeding. seems that's what gets you reported. people don't want someone in ranked to tell them to do better or what they could be doing wrong. they don't want feedback, if they are grimly deterimed to feed they don't care that someone else doesn't want them to feed and wants them to win. they'll report you just for kicks and giggles.

Glad you took that in a positive way. It is unfortunate that we have to tip-toe around the emotions and egos of less mature people. But such is life. Once you understand that, you can take advantage of it.

Communicating in-game will not get you banned unless it is pointless arguing which does not help anyone. Giving someone a tip is risky. If they accept the advice, great! If not, they tend to suck you into an arguing match. Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and make you look just like them. Take the high road for once, and if someone refuses to accept help just mute them and leave them alone. Chances are you will never see them again.

I give people advice all the time. Whether or not they accept it is irrelevant. If they start to argue about it, just ignore them. It isn't an argument worth having and will most likely get you restricted or worse.

i was just in a game where we were up 22 - 9 and cruising when our lucian wanted a blue buff and the jungler took it. lucian then proceeded to throw a baby fit and stated he would not participate in any team fights. i told him to grow up and stop throwing baby fits for small things. we lost the game. lucian tried to get other people to report me on the grounds that i was being toxic

this is your great system lyte. good ******* job at developing a whole army of game play trolls who are smart enough not to verbally abuse anyone during the game but screw up the game for other players

Thank Goodness my reports are finally taking into effect. I usually just report people when they decide to get angry about not wanting to surrender.

Riot does promote communication, but it does seem that communication in game gets you chat restricted take a example.

You are playing the game you know yourself that you got a bot lane feeders and a jungler who sucks they die 4 times and the enemy is just getting fed and you say in chat (Group up we can win as a team now with forced fights in our favor and objectives contested if not we likely lose).

Next thing (Reported for negative behavior) ( And that is the polite way to put it when you got 3 unskilled feeders on a team, but usually they get toxic and just feed more rather than try to win without feeding more and when I say feed I mean like 50 deaths to the enemy no joke?)

This doesn't happen very often but Junglers who intentionally run in a lane with no brains and feed the enemy to throw off the lane, then calling for group fight and forced objectives early and team gets toxic.

(Reported for random reason.)

Players who refuse to understand there are other types of play other than staying in a lane until first tower or more are down, and understanding its a team game try and help others, then players who get toxic in games debating a specific issue in chat after they already got an answer constantly (This is toxic) but they get away with filing reports for another random reason.

Players Champion Select, who do not talk in chat get away with Refusing to communicate and making toxicity by auto locking creating issues in game meta issues then complaining about it.

( Reported for another random reason.)

And the last one Do anything someone doesn't like (Get Reported) no matter what it is even if you are just having a bad game.

Lets talk about toxicity though.

I don't see asking a player to (Please Stop Feeding) as being toxic (Perhaps there are better ways to put it) however lets say ranked for example because it is what I mainly play in Silver 2 you are supposed to playing on a Silver 2 level but some players play like they are Bronze 5, and saying stop feeding I don't see as being toxic, there are other things you can do like (calling group) earlier or other tactics rather than stop feeding.

Ranked (Is Not A Training Session) I could spend 30 minutes explaining to everyone on my team who is (Feeding) and doing bad exactly what they are doing wrong (Item Wise) (Rune Wise) and likely (Skill Wise) but hey I do not have the ability to pause a game and spend 30 minutes looking over everyone in the game to explain why the hell you are feeding the enemy massively and try to help you with it honestly I would like to, but its just not possible, there are however resources on (YouTube) and (Solomid.net) as well as (Championselect.net) that can help you with builds and tips the next thing is (Knowing Your Skills) and the (Enemy's Skills) as well as (Skill Ranges of yours and the enemy) and (Cool Down Times) This information helps you a lot and if you have played many games you should know this information.

Not sure if this is true, but someone told me Riot has a 0 tolerance policy and will never undo a restriction/ban/permaban. Possibly just someone who didnt know what they are talking about. Can you verify or deny this for me?

Riot can remove restrictions and bans, any game company can remove a ban, or restriction, or edit anything on an account they want to as an administrator the only question is if Riot would do it its not they can't its that they don't want to.

I don't get what the big deal is with CRs. I mean, it's not like you need to talk in-game. I rarely talk cuz you know, I'm busy CS'ing, and balancing the harass. The only times you need to say something is if you want your team to know that you're planning on ganking, dragon, baron, etc. Group mid is also another thing to say.

But for the most part, I'm too lazy to say "GJ" whenever someone gets a kill or fb
