literally every single time i tell him to NOT do that, he says IT'S SO MUCH BETTER THAN TF...

then he rages and tells me to let him play how he wants to play, then is always confounded at why he feeds.

item 3025 causes Gnar to chill out, preventing the rage from taking over. Don't let Gnar chill out

If it really bothers you so much just pick Gnar, build Trinity and do better than him. He clearly doesn't give a shit about your opinion because he doesn't think you know any better. That isn't going to change unless you can prove it to him.

Alternatively, you can let him just play what he wants to play and have fun.

You can build both.

Then you still have the 125% base AD AOE slowing field, and you also have the 200% base AD damage on your primary target (yes, spellblade works like that, check the wiki if you don't believe me).

I do that on Eve sometimes if I'm REALLY ahead and go back with 4k.

i think iceborn can be better if your planning to go straight tank gnar. since your w passive in mini form already does a lot of damage

Ask him why he consistently fails in game if ice born gauntlet is so great. Then when he answers he does not know suggest alternatives to try.

If he says something stupid like its X reason, smack him and stop doing X then. You are tired of him being an ass and not learning

My life duo and I have both been playing since early season 2 as well, so we understand the frustration of dealing with each other being stubborn about thinking that we know what we're doing, and raging at each other about keeping each other in check. It's pretty funny when we talk about it, but we're getting better at giving more constructive feedback. Sometimes what it takes is for someone else telling us, "Hey, that's not working," before we understand that it's not just our pigheaded partner being an all-knowing ass.

Anyway, you have two choices. Find a constructive way to tell him that it's not working or have someone else observe him and do it. If those don't work, your other two choices are to suck it up and deal with it or stop playing with him until he gets the hint that he's really not that fun to be around.

You could tell him that purchasing mana and AP on a manaless, AD champion is an inefficient use of his gold.

How do you tell him? Give him link to this thread.

Just tell him "The ChickenWrap AMA dude says buy Frozen Mallet"

He'll start buying Frozen Mallet. Or he should. It's amazing on Gnar. Rush it against people who are good at keeping up with Gnar. Trust me.
