RFE: MMR reset service

I would like to request a feature: a FULL ranked/MMR reset. Can be 1000 RP. I have this account stuck in ELO hell. Cant get it out of bronze 5 solo.

So, spent months grinding up a new account.

Finally got placements: Silver 5 2.

Bronze 5 ... Silver 2. Same and only player. See a problem here?

i would much rather have spent $10, and reset my rank on this account, than have spent months grinding that other account. So specifically, people who are stuck in lows, would probably pay to be able to fully redo ranked MMR and placements. (NOT the 'soft' reset we had at the end of S4)

Since getting MMR to work for individuals in a team game is hard , Riot, please allow for this workaround. and hey you make money from it. win/win?

You can reset your MMR already. Just win more games than you lose. The more you win than lose, the better your MMR will get.

The problem with an "MMR reset" button is that it doesn't fix any of the problems that get people "stuck" in Bronze 5. Learn how to fix your mistakes, don't rely on someone else to fix them for you.

(This is all coming from someone who has climbed out of the depths of 600 elo, basically the Bronze 5 of the Elo bracket)

and how did you get out?

Did you get out by just wining your lane and playing well generally? Or did you have to completely change your game style, and use a hyper-carry champ?

my point is, I am not making many mistakes in lane. I tend to have a 4 or 5 KDA. but when at least 1, maybe 2 other lanes either feed or AFK, aint nothing you can do. There's way more luck involved than there should be, at low elo.

PS: 600 elo is NOT bronze 5 elo hell. I think that's b4 mmr. you have to go below that. Which I somehow got stuck in. Nightmare.

Basically, I had to completely change my game style. Because it was bad. I had to admit to myself that what I was doing was not working and completely re-evaluate my play style. That is what allowed me to climb back up to B1. Basically I had to learn how to close games where I was ahead and carry myself out when I was behind.

I had to stop blaming my team mates and the RNG of the system and learn how to just consistently play better. The "Elo Hell" was in my mind and I had to stop letting myself use that as a reason to not get better.

See, right there, you kinda proved my point, though.

Yeah, you had places you recognized you could improve in general. but you also had to basically win the game yourself ("learn how to close games"), and become a team "carrier".

Yeah, and I had to learn that what I was doing wasn't carrying games. I didn't get out of Bronze by trying to personally carry, but trying to empower my team for the win. Weather it was being the saintly voice of reason or making the correct calls for my team, I am taking an active role in my teams Moral and Teamwork Capabilities.

Just because you crushed it in lane doesn't mean crap if you can't win a team fight, understand what map objectives to focus, or how to win a game with a disadvantage.

Maybe the reason you got Ranked higher on your new account is from all the practice you got leveling it up?

ranked games, or general games?

I think I have over 1000 normal rift wins on this account.

I have over 100 normal rift wins on the silver account.

and on THAT account, I usually get matched with silvers in normal games too. So no, this wasnt just a lucky fluke of placements. That is my "real" MMR.

I'd just give you the lolking link if I didnt have this griefer stalker hampster here.

To make the timeline a little clearer :)

played on this account for lloong time. (going on 2 years now?) Got stuck in ELO hell ayear ago. Started new account maybe 6 months ago. tried to play it a little each day for daily IP bonus, etc. Just finished ranked placements on new account after I ground out enough IP for decent rune pages and runes, etc. But still kept playing this old account and trying ranked here as well.

(didnt help that I worked my way up to b2 at end of S4.. then got screwed in placements and ended up b4/b5 start of S5. Ughhhh... )

I think mostly Riot would just end up with a bunch of upset Bronze players that think they are Gold but got put right back down into Bronze after paying for the reset.

I think simply setting a minimum MMR at each new season would be better (though that might not even be a good idea because it would flood Silver with actual Bronze V players as well as the ones stuck in Bronze that didn't belong there).

that is true.

this makes it win/win/win.

win - people who need it, can actualy do something win - riot gets money win - people who keep whining UNjustified, "oh i play better but i'm trapped in ELO hell".. get a chance to prove if they're right or not. Putting a pricetag on this, means they wont just abuse it and do resets over and over. if they still fail.. hopefully less whining over all.. and maybe they learn something about their real skill level, too.

I'm not saying he's right (because I don't think he is), but it's pretty important to keep your story consistent, I feel.

oops. Okay, thats a good point. I refered to my placed rank twice. initially I mistyped silver 5. but next line, I said it was silver 2.

edited to fix the bad first line, but left second line untouched.

account name or it never happened. everyone starts at silver 5 that is how i know you are lying. if you did very well or poorly in provisionals you could get silver 4 or bronze 1 but anything further than that is impossible.

There are tons of people here who have gotten LESS then bronze 1 in placements, and there are plenty of people who have placed higher. sorry i must have been mistaken. i went 0-10 in my provisionals to try to get into bronze 5 and got placed silver 5. i also talked to other people who got placed silver 5 so i assumed that is where they stuck everyone. they must base it off your mmr in other gametypes although riot has said they dont do that.... i dont know.

but yes i was wrong that first guy you linked was definitely placed in silver 2.

on a sidenote did you look at that guys match history? over 100 games of twisted treeline going 1-11 or so each before starting a couple of days ago destroying everyone in silver2+. http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=iDaburn+

he definitly used a bot to level.

Unlucky S5 placements dropped me from b2 to b4. tried to play my way out... but.. trapped in hell. Oftentimes would play perfect no-death matches, but 2 and sometimes 3 lanes fed hard. (3 lanes when i was jungling)

So got demoted further.
