Question about ranked

I played my first out of 10 games I need to start ranked, but I had a toxic player and we lost. My question is; am I placed in a tier based off of how well I do or how well my team does?

If you're just starting ranked, prepare to be somewhere in bronze. Silver if you're lucky.

Once in bronze, expect it to be a nightmare to get out of bronze. Toxicity is insanely high in LoL.

Dont downvote if im wrong, but im pretty sure that if you consistently do well but you still lose you will get placed higher. You might not get placed in silver, but it might be the difference between bronze 4 and bronze 2 or 1. again not sure so dont quote me on that.

Your individual performance has no effect on where you are placed. You are placed based on your MMR, which is determined by whether you win or lose the match.
