Question about ranked

I played my first out of 10 games I need to start ranked, but I had a toxic player and we lost. My question is; am I placed in a tier based off of how well I do or how well my team does?

If you're just starting ranked, prepare to be somewhere in bronze. Silver if you're lucky.

Once in bronze, expect it to be a nightmare to get out of bronze. Toxicity is insanely high in LoL.

Your individual performance has no effect on where you are placed. You are placed based on your MMR, which is determined by whether you win or lose the match.
