I'll stop playing Solo Queue.

A or A+ [almost] every time. While allies with equal or worse scores get S or S+.

I get it. I'm not allowed to get an S. It's because I'm a support main, isn't it? I don't play high damage champions in any position (except Illaoi in every position).

So. You win. No more Solo queue for me. (At least, no more Solo Queue on SR. The only one with hex-tech crafting. :/ )

I main support and get S, S-, S+ all the time. Currently have 3 of them on supports ( Leona Sona Taric ) as of chests being implemented. Like for Sona I got an S+ with 4/3/27 KDA, along with 32 wards placed, 7 wards destroyed, 2 towers taken, and several other objectives helped on. So it all just depends on how much you truly help the team.

I'm aware of that. This thread is more vent than anything. But the constant A+ is getting annoying. Just give me a B for Riot's sake. At least then the system isn't giving me a middle finger every game saying your almost there.

i'm also a support main and also am unable to get an s. just a or a+ yet before the hextech crafting i was able to get "S" as support no problem. edit: love how this was downvoted. XD

I'll be honest. I have no idea what I was getting before Hex-tech. I didn't care. If not for hex-tech, I still wouldn't care.

As for your score going down; I could see 2 reasons for it.

People (like me) who didn't worry about grade before, are now striving for that elusive S. This forces them to play better and raises the average skill range.
People trying to game the system. Everyone builds around ADC Support Janna. As long as she gets super fed (in theory), you can throw the rest of the game and still get an S. Then everyone who queued with her will also get a chest. (I've actually seen a scenario like this.)

You are compared to others using the same champion in the same position. Meaning if you go Soraka support, you will be compared only to other Soraka supports. So an A or A+ means you are above average for that champ in the role during that time period.

I know how it works.

I guess the expectation is to solo carry with the most popular champs (Lower the average skill level). Because it sure as hell doesn't feel like anything less is working. It doesn't seem to help that I play for utility in other roles (Banner+Zeke's on Vel'Koz mid). So my Damage out-put (and kills) is probably well below par.

It is not just about KDA. Make sure you are getting those wards out!!

On this account you made just to post on the boards, the one nami game you only had 12 wards placed. That is not enough. You should be using all three ward stacks on SS and buying Pinks often. Moving the wards depending on how the games goes, warding objectives.. no way you can do that all game with only 12.

My point is, more goes into your grade than your KDA. I main support and get S often, even after Hextech.. in fact I cant get another chest for a while. I guess there is a limit.. I didnt read up on it lol

That game was an accident. I didn't realize they flipped normal and ranked draft in the client. Further. 1 game getting stomped is in no way an accurate overall representation of my average performance.

But please. Continue to make unsubstantiated accusation.

My point is, more goes into your grade than your KDA.

Unfortunately, I can only see the one game. I am not trying to being a jerk though I was just making suggestions. Some times my duo who is my ADC will have 15 or more with no deaths and still only get A or A+.. I agree we need to know exactly what goes into it. Thank you for the information on the chest as well.
