So what punishments await us next year? Riot is handling the problem at the wrong angles

I was banned multiple times for multiple reasons, I am completely honest. I am an bollockshole scumbag who gets his rage on really quick and gets aggressive towards people really fast who provoke me. I got punished for that and it was deserved, all the times. So much to my backstory , now on to the problem at hand.

Riot punishing people for HATE speech, racism, extremist etc. remarks, I fully agree with if it happens multiple times and they have been warned, what I on the other hand do not agree with, is how trolling, afking and other forms of abusement behaviour is being handled in contradiction. Sure, it's easier to trace the chat logs and see: AHA, that guy was a bum, he will now get a 5000 chat restriction but it's impossible to trace the credibility , yet the circumstances that someone intentionally trolled, fed and/or assisted enemy team by afk or other means. That is what rustles my jimmies.

What Riot is basically saying is: calling smoeone stupid ( assuming it's any xyz remark which isn't racist or extreme, like f.e kill yourself), is to be punished HARDER, than someone who wasted other 4 people's lifetime by half an hour or even up to an hour in a useless round which can't be won because a random troll/feeder decided to continue to play worse than a easy Bot. That is what I do NOT understand and see no objective reasoning in why it is handled this way. I have been banned multiple times , everytime only because I quickly started to flame everyone and everything, but the times I started to REALLY feed and/or troll, I haven't received ANY form of punishment. Not.1.single.NOTHING.

I have witnessed on my own, and numerous other cases, that trolling and feeding behaviour is not only tolerated, but left unpunished by both Riot staff and their system. On the other hand again, a team which quickly needs a lamb for the blame-slaughter, can assemble together and mass report an individual. To me, that is an even worse act of social discrimination than flaming is, and I yet fail to see why Riot doesn't see it the same way.

Riot keeps waving around their big stick and saying: " Nah nah naughty children be careful what u do" They hit the little kid who said: " You are stupid" to show the kids who beat others up what punishment theoretically awaits them, yet when a kid gets beat up , Riot grabs the kid who said:"you are stupid" again and hits him again. That is my impression of how this community gets handled and from my viewpoint, which has been on every side of the barrier, the unpunished, the punished and the innocent side the same, this is outrageous.

I made a very non-politically correct joke due to how this announcement and current mindset have compounded onto my emotional state. Riot didn't like it and decided to remove the post and threaten to permanently ban me.

But the joke was A picture of a gun and bullet with the quote "End of season reward, Courtesy of Riot's Player Behavior Team."

Literally, Might as well just tell us to kill ourselves.

Riot and the normal player base do not care about our well being, because we have been punished.

In the eyes of Riot, if you are toxic, whether you started it or not, you are guilty and therefore eligible to be punished. Even if 'provoked'.

So here's the thing, it's usually harder to catch someone who's trolling versus someone who is legitimately bad at the game or doing poorly with an off-meta pick. Especially for an automated system. There are ways to do it, it's just a lot more subjective than say, a toxic player whose exact words can be run through a taboo dictionary. That's why toxic players are easier to weed out and hence, punish. That doesn't make you any less responsible for what you said, but you know that.

I wouldn't say totally unpunished, but disproportionately unpunished, sure.

Actually if I'm not mistaken the report system looks across several games to form a case against you, unless one particular game had extreme hate speech etc. Mass reporting an individual can result in chat restrictions in some cases, but not time bans.

They're rolling out new systems to help detect trolls and intentional feeders, which I assume is your biggest issue with the community. (Dunno when) Understand that while nobody can deny these people plague our games, toxicity still isn't justified. Mainly because true trolls dont care if you're toxic, neither do intentional feeders. And people who you interpret to be trolling etc. may not be, and see your toxicity as an attack. Sure, you can probably tell the difference, but an objective system cannot. Food for thought.
