Just to clarify, why can't we see the rank of our opponents?
We used to be able to and we can still do it if we look it up online, so what is the point of it? Anyone have an actual response from a rioter or such.

I'd assume they don't want to create anxiety and defeatism before the game even started. Matchmaking isn't perfect, lots of times you'll get matched with people ranked far above you.
