I don't get the joke... Throwing on puropse isn't funny?

Why is it fun to play a game, dominate the opponent but never try to win. In fact you can be 26/3/10 then at the 37 minute mark you decide to let the other team win. What is the joke? the other team thinks they pulled it out of the fire. They don't know you threw on purpose so who is the one laughing? Is the joke to laugh secretly to yourself "look at these chumps, they think they won for real." There is just one thing.... they get LP EXP and maybe a rank win. You wasted your time and and got losers points.

I don't get it. I don't even feel trolled because for most of the game you were a monster. Killing everything that moved. besides the last few minutes i was going to honor you. Is the joke on your teammates? Maybe the joke just isn't funny,

Help me out.

Because they are not laughing with you. I would laugh at you and say thanks for the free IP. Its like someone throwing money at you. "Look how silly you look picking money up off the ground. And I am silly for giving it too you. Let's all have a laugh."

But if the point of the game is to have fun, and if the whole team agrees that it would be fun to surrender at the end of the game, why does it matter what the other team thinks? If someone WANTS to throw money on the ground, why is it inherently wrong to do so, if they have fun doing it? Your explanation works if the point of the game is to acquire as much IP as possible, but that's not the point. The point is that it's a GAME, for fun-having.

you are coming from a self center point where the many out way the one when the one is trying to play by the rules and try for victory. the game has an intended purpose. throwing is not intended and I have never seen 5 people agree on anything lol. someone will get trolled.

I have never seen a whole team agree. If I am on it, unanimous failure will not be achieved. 4 reports incoming.

A) You didn't answer my question about the point of the game. B) If the report fails, no harm done. Zero reports. If it succeeds, at most one person rejected it. So a maximum of one report.

To your question: All recreational activities should be enjoyable. That is not a measure of the activity. In the rule book it does not say have fun by any means necessary. Their are rules and objectives. Going against those objectives is trolling by definition. If you all agree to troll that has no bearing on whether or not you are in fact trolling. apply this to a real world game. the only reason this makes sense (to you) is an internet mentality.

I must admit i remember what it was like to pay to play so i guess this is the new mind set of free to play.

The circumstances under which I would do this would be if our team absolutely STOMPED them. Like thirty kills up at 20 minutes stomped them. In that situation, they are probably not having fun, so, in order to create the maximum amount of fun, sometimes my team agrees to surrender, for the surprise value. I actually disagree with your definition of trolling. I agree that trolling is breaking the established rules or norms, but I think that it implies malicious intent; you don't troll in general: you troll SOMEONE. Using this definition, surrendering with the intent of amusing others is not trolling, even if they don't find it particularly amusing. That said, I don't think that this debate is going anywhere. I see where you're coming from. I hope you can see where I'm coming from. That is all I have to say on the topic.

Ever had a game that was a complete stomp on your team? It's not fun, people don't wanna quit playing the game they are having fun in just to go into the next one which might suck ass. For some people, dragging the game out, potentially losing but having fun, is a lot better than ending it just as it was getting enjoyable and then entering a new inferior game.

That's not ok though. It's unsportsmanlike behavior. Dragging out a game to "have fun" farming the enemy team is BM.

Maybe but I'd rather enemy stall the game out vs me, go ahead BM me, give me a chance to fight back with my shit early game champs, there is a reason champions like Riven and Shyvana are so bad early. I want the late game. That said when I am ahead I have no issue ending the when I want to, so I don't care if my team just wants to horse around, and if I'm not ahead, but my team is, I'll let them take the lead and do what they want, they earned their advantage, I'll just try and borrow from it, like using one torch to light another.

its because of matchmaking.

if you win your mmr goes up and you get harder games. if you lose your mmr goes down and you get easier games.

these guys intentionally lose at the end not because they think its funny, but because they dont want to get harder games. they like going 26-3 and the best way to do that is to continue to lose.
