I have never met a prodigy PLAT just 1000's of hours wasted. Same as everyone else.

I hear a lot of people shitting on Plats for shtting on them. Division shaming and the like. It is weird to think that anyone would get their self worth from the game. Everyone thinks that If a Plat sees you failing they will rage on you. This is pretty much one youngster shitting on another youngster because they haven't wasted as much time as a Plat player. This game is fun but in the end you realize (short of going pro) this game has no real world benefit. I'm not shitting on plats for being plats and above. I am actually telling everyone to take a step back and realize that the skills in this source of entertainment are not transferable.

I have never seen the High Level player that only has 200 games. He might exist, I'm just saying I haven't seen him or her. All I ever see is people with thousands of hours invested in a game. I am also wasting hours on something I enjoy and while I try to win, I am not as invested as others to reach a level of pointlessness as another person. You are either making money playing or you aren't. There are only two divisions.

Don't drink Riot's koolaid but do enjoy yourself.

funny how friggle the the "2 divisions" are...

there's actually a 3rd...

Youtuber. xD

  1. those who play for fun. - just for fun...
  2. youtuber - makes money and/or enjoyment
  3. Pro. - makes money

so a person could perhaps be in bronze, just making funny videos, having thousands of people watch him.. probably makes a little bit but not too much..

you know?

I see a few golds and plats in my bronzie normals.. (I think my normal MMR is higher than my ranked... lol) sometimes they do bad sometimes they poop all over their competition.

my theory is.. that if they're doing bad.. their is either something wrong and they're extremely on tilt. Or they're not trying as hard as they could be.. (Because it's a normal game)

There are plat with only 200 games or so, they are not common but they definetely exist. Similar to any other activity, talent and natural skill exist and those small/big difference will show, similar to how not everyone can become a professional athlete even if they dedicate ridiculously amount of time due to being too short, or genetically incompatible people can't become pro like players with bad reflexes and poor reaction time.

Also you can make money aside from becoming pro if you have nose for business. You can go for communities, sponsored tournaments, graphic design and many other sub categories coming from playing the game.

The point of games was to be competitive. Humans enjoy being competitive, which is why sports became popular in the first place. There isn't as much competition in our day to day lives like back then, so we resort to games/sports for our competitive needs. It has nothing to do with any monetary advantages. Not everything in our lives is about money.

I also don't understand the time thing, there are people who have played long before S1 like me and are still Bronze/Silver even after 5 seasons and have thousands of ranked games vs my 40 from season 5. Then there are people who have essentially been platchallenger level since the beginning of ranked. Simply pouring in time into anything doesn't suddenly make you better at it.
