Riot, just make two NA servers please

"Some of you may ask, 'Why not just keep the Portland servers online and create separate servers?' Ultimately, our answer is simple – the community. Today’s NA community traces its roots all the way back to the beginning of League’s open beta in April 2009. Starting from a grand total of three hundred players, in less than six years the community has swelled to millions of us. We’ve all been there together through League’s constant evolution, and continue to welcome new players from across North America every day. For us, the preservation of the NA community is worth any effort, and with that in mind we’ve focused all our energy on creating a stable, long-term, single-server solution."

This is terrible, terrible reasoning. Why don't you poll the player base? I'm sure 90% of us would say we would rather all have lower ping than everyone have moderate ping. "Does everyone want a great experience, or a pretty alright experience?" It feels like you're shafting more people with this change than helping.

If the player base has grown to millions just in the NA region, why not make 2 servers? It's obviously needed.

If it bothers you so much to not "keep the community together", then just don't lock the regions and allow free transfers so we can play with any cross country friends.

I literally cannot fathom a reason why you would doom everyone to 'not bad' ping when you could give everyone great ping.

Take of your nostalgia goggles Rito HQ. You aren't a little company anymore. You may pine for the days of your close-knit community, but the game is just too big for 1 NA server anymore.

Besides, just because there are 2 servers doesn't mean the community will just disappear. We're still a community based on our love of the game, making 2 servers literally changes nothing (besides giving everyone a better experience.)

Do you know how wrong that statement is? Two servers means that NA East and NA West CANNOT play with each other. If you live in Florida and you have a friend in California guess what... you can't play with each other unless you make a new account on the other server. This would also mean two separate LCS's, one per server which would also require an eastern based studio for the regular season games.

Don't get me wrong I would love for everyone to have the best ping possible instead of this median ping, but in reality I would not want a separate NA East and NA West server.

I really want to see riots REAL reason for not having multiple servers i know financially it would be more taxing . BUT YOU ARE RIOT, the highest grossing multiplayer game in existence if CSGO can afford to have multiple servers and still be one region. We all love you guys and we know you love your community, i am not doubting your integrity i just want to know what is keeping you from having 3 or even more servers i lived in Ohio and played league on the West coast server with time warner internet and anyone who has it can tell you how inconsistent and annoying TW is to deal with and i had better more consistent connection to the server than i do now in AZ with cox, with a high speed package and still can't keep as good of a connection as i did then. I am a small fish in an ocean but i would like some kind of reason as do many others.
