Is it possible to place into diamond with your placements at the beginning of the season?

I am currently Plat 2 and I think I will be able to reach diamond by preseason, but the thing is when next season starts it wont even matter. So if I get a diamond mmr right now and do well in my placements will I be able to hit diamond from the beginning?

Not unless you get seeded by Riot

Maybee if you were challenger/ master you would but not plat. Your mmr gets averaged with S5 mmr

It'll make it easier for you. You might get seeded in plat I and gain 30 lp per win.
