A bit disappointed in the Gangplank "rework"

I know it may not be a popular opinion, and I get that.

I feel this was less of a rework, and more basic quality of life changes that could have been easily added years ago. He got a visual rework that I feel wasn't needed to the extent that it was, as it took away from his character, not adding to it, and outside of taking away his E, which I feel was bad, it feels lackluster, and far from the hype they made it out to be, and for the time it took to do.

It is at least better than the MF equivalent, which actually took away from some of her stuff, and just literally tacked on some extra goodies (another quality of life buff more than a rework) to her current abilities.

It IS an improvement but...this is it? All this hype, this new map, all this time talking about and time spent on it, and this is it? I don't mean to sound ungrateful, cause he needed some love in certain places but...this feels like random QoL changes you'd see halfway down a patch notes page...not an overhyped rework.

Completely agree. Fortune runs faster and does more damage on her rebound shot. That's it? That's a patch note change. GP drops an exploding barrel that honestly takes away from how I envisioned he gets played.

I honestly feel Riot is one of those companies that will sit in a board room and just bounce ideas around for hours, with everyone wanting to be the alpha player and feel their idea is better. As a result....nothing gets accomplished cause no one comes to terms with anything.

You have no idea how correct you are.

I've commented on this before, but Riot employees themselves have said sometimes things don't get done as fast as they could because of how disorganized meetings can be.

There are no actual managers in most cases, and sometimes one person on the QA team today could be helping the balance team tomorrow, and so on.

They won't go into detail about things like that (for good reason), but they tend to be very disorganized outside of the music/video/art departments.

I agree both changes are underwhelming.

The rework just leaves me confused with the direction they want him to be played. I really enjoyed playing him as a run and gun champion or with a jousting style, but the change to the "E" seems to break the previous synergy of his kit. He use to run really fast and get out of everything, now you prep locations to fight in?

On a side note:

"The e ability change is pretty significant (Imagine loading them in bushes and waiting for a face checker). But I do wish they kept his old visual look. For some reason I liked his previous model better."

I agree about the model and really hope they add a classic skin

They aren't like Gragas barrels where the prime then you can choose to explode them. You have to go and attack them and destroy them, and you are then competing with said person who can just as easily destroy them, which then gives them gold for doing so.

It is a very potentially decent ability, but not worth what it replaced.
