Why I think people don't like supporting
Now I usually queue mid / support because I know that while I'd prefer mid, I can do good as support. I don't have a problem with supporting when I have a good team. I actually love supporting. Feeling the bond between my ADC and I in lane as we conquer is amazing. I think everyone should feel that at least once. Here is why people don't like supporting:
-
You don't get credit (though, the only credit you should want is the + X LP
-
People blame you for their deaths even though you were unable to save them
-
People do not try to save you (ADCs keep their heal for themselves)
-
People often will bait you into plays and then dash away
-
Riot balances other roles before support
-
You're squishy as hell and your abilities don't do anything without AP (for specific utility supports; ie: Sona)
-
You have little impact in how the game goes (not true for all supports, or in all situations)
-
You can do well and have a bad team / adc (my proof below)
Note those are not consecutive losses.
