Was Gold 4 last season, and this season i did my provisionals. i lost 8 and won 2. yes i tried really hard every game but yknow... provisionals...
Anywho How did i get Silver 2? thats only like 3 ranks down!! Im very happy that i wasnt put in bronze (What i thought iwas going to get) I would see many people posting "Riot wtf? i wasplat now im silver?!?!?!" and it startled me. can someone explain to me how the Provisional system works?

At the beginning of each season, MMR endures a "soft reset". This basically means that it will take your MMR and lower it bit so when you do your placements, you end up slightly lower than where you ended (usually).
From what I gathered on the boards at the beginning of season, a lot of people that won 7-8 games, got placed where they left off. Not everyone though. Some people I know won all 10 games and went from mid silver to mid bronze. Mainly due to duoing with bronze buddies last season which probably tanked their MMR. Out of everyone I know, only one person ended up higher, and that is because he went from bronze to diamond during preseason. (This part is purely speculative as nothing official is released on how MMR works).
Last season you ended in gold 4, so the pattern seems to fit.
Really. I had 58% of winrate last season. I also did 2-8 and went from gold 3 to silver 3 lol
