Hextech Crafting questions

Hey, I've just started playing league again after a 5 month break and I really love the Hextech crafting rewards. I've read about it on the wiki but still having some questions.

Do chests become available one at a time with 7 days in between or is it 7 days since you got your previous chest? e.g. you get 4 S games on day one, receiving all 4 chests. 8 days later, will I have 1 chest available or 4?
When does a champion become eligible for chests again? Does it reset monthly, annually or never?
They said that the key drop rate diminishes with each key shard you got and this drop rate resets monthly. Does this happen at the 1st of each month or exactly 30 days after you got each key?
How many key shards do you regularly get each month? I've been playing about a week and have gotten 6 shards in total. Haven't received any during the last two days, though.

As far as I have seen, Chests start respawning once every 7 days as soon as you go below 4 chests. Then the timer doesn't change. For instance, each individual chest doesn't have it's own recharge timer.

They only said once per season. I assume this means that as soon as the next season starts. Their ability to earn chests refreshes.

I believe this will reset monthly. I have no facts, posts, or anything to back this up. For instance, I believe that key drop rate will reset on April 1st. I hope this because I've gotten 4 key shards... and can't seem to get another one. :)
