Why I Dislike Ranked and Refuse To Play It

So, I have been playing League of Legends for a very long time, first time I ever hit the rift, it was Season 2 and I played Udyr jungle as my friend made me sit at his computer and try it. Now then, I have over 1000 games played on this one account alone, but out of those 1000 games, I maybe only have 50 ranked games total, over all my seasons of play. I generally do my placement matches, play a few games to see is climbing is possible without too much of a headache, if not, I go back to normals. Which is generally the case. Highest I ever placed was Silver3 in Season 5. Now I did my promos this year and got Bronze3, so again i tried to climb at least one or two ranks which I deemed more trouble than it was worth.

The reasons I feel Ranked in Lower Elo is more trouble than it is worth, is in my eyes, why bother myself with trying as best as I can (cause I never spam ranked games so I always feel extra pressure playing them) with my main champions LeeSin Jayce TwistedFate Lucian Kassadin Irelia when I genuinely end up despising my favorite characters, the game, and its community. Cause, lets face it, ranked games are like a bait for all the toxic players in the world, I used to be one of them back in Season 5 and previous.

And the reason I make this thread is to show that some people, only do the placements and put in a little effort after that before letting themselves enjoy the game. I recently came back from a 2 month vacation away from League of Legends, and so I am trying to get back into the swing of things. So naturally, I have more bad games than not. The real annoyance is when your own team turns on you after hearing from one person out of the other 9 in the lobby, that i am Bronze3. Leading to my own teammates abandoning me and flaming me. Its an okay thing, its to be expected, its a video game thats taken seriously, though just from that one bit of info, I basically went from doing poorly, to attrociously as I couldn't work with a team that didn't want me to go near them.

So again, if you see someone in bronze or silver, take a moment to make sure you aren't just flaming a player who doesn't enjoy ranked games.

Do any of you dislike Ranked? Tell us why down below. Feel free to tell why you do enjoy Ranked Games as well.

See, your problem is you're treating ranked and normals as completely separate beasts, when in actuality they really aren't. If you play your normal mode games with the intent to win just play ranked as if it was a normal mode game. You're putting the pressure on yourself by thinking that ranked is somehow more important than normals, if you can break that habit I think you might find a way to enjoy ranked. Sure people will rage when mistakes are made, but a quick mute and post-game report is really all you need to do as far as acknowledging it. Just take it slowly and see if you can ease the pressure off yourself, it couldn't hurt.

This is somethin that I've always thought riot should have put more work into. Silver and lower elos are broken. My first season I bounced around in silver and I would 100% have quit if either a decent multiplayer game happened to come out at that time, or I didnt have a couple IRL friends that I felt the need to compete with in elo. I happened to get to mid gold in order to 1 up my friend who was gold 4, and it wasnt until then that ranked started feelin worthwhile. The cess pool where most of the people get their introduction into this game is a horrifically unfun place to be lol. And its not just the toxicity, the number of trolls, people with internet problems and afks. Its the amount of disparity between the players who are trying, and have the capabilities to play league, and the ones who dont but havent played enough games to be bronze yet. As annoying as it is to get a D5 autofill adc, which is basically a guaranteed lose where im at, silver was just a constant state of throws, and people being caught out unaware non-stop. It can be climbed out of by players dramatically better then the average silver, but for someone of a skill closer to gold, its just luck. However one thing that does annoy me though is people who dont do ranked, but have an "assumed" level they think they'd be at if they did, and try to boast about it. Dont claim it till you've earned it, all im sayin.

I love normal games. I played them almost exclusively in season five, my starting season. I finished my placements in the last few days of the season, played one or two more, then stopped playing ranked and went back to normal because ranked was not at all fun. People just seemed angrier there, and I felt like there was a lot of pressure on me. In season 6 I finished my placements halfway through the season and placed a division lower than I did previously, so I decided to climb up to my previous division. After that, I quit, because ranked still wasn't very fun. This season, I finished my placements halfway through the season again (playing normal games up until now), but now I'm trying to climb. Ranked still isn't as fun as normal games, but I think I have improved enough to climb to Gold V. I have always wanted to get a Victorious Skin and a free Champion, so even though I'm not having much fun, I think the "fun" I'll have when I finally get all three of my ranks to Gold V will be worth it.
