Why do you like your favorite champion?

So I was watching the new all chat and they started talking about champions they liked and why they liked them. For someone who picks his champions based almost entirely on the thematic niche they inhabit, I could really relate to this subject.

So why do you like your favorite champion? Is it for thematic reasons or game play reasons or both?

For me, my favorite champion is (cue boos. I also think he needs a nerf with the new patch for sure but please don't turn this into a gameplay thread). The reason I like Yasuo is because I relate to his cynicism. He has become disenfranchised with the world and is just wandering around looking for his place in it while wondering what the purpose of life is, which I can personally attest to, minus the brother killing and being framed for murder.

So what champion do you like and why?

Anivia Because once you hit level 6, you practically win lane unless you get camped hard. Even then, if you play smart, you might still win lane and put their jungler behind.

Bard is my favorite champion because he fits exactly how I like to play. Way back in the day I played a lot of roaming Eve / Twitch / Alistar until Riot took it down. Then they release Bard and bring back what I like to do, but with better tools. He roams the map so quickly and you can get really creative with magical journey and your ultimate. Can't say enough good things about magical journey though, probably my favorite ability in the game. Use it to bait, use it to set up a gank, escape enemies, sneak baron / dragon, and other things.

I also enjoy the chime minigame. Being efficient about collecting and getting enough lane experience is fun for me. His character itself amuses me too because I enjoy all of the Studio Ghibli stuff. His "voiceover" if you want to call it one, is pretty relaxing as well.

Alright, mine's Ahri

I was drawn to her splash art (not this one, the first one), and I was waiting impatiently for her to be put on the free-to-play roster so I could try her. This was back when I was still accumulating champions and didn't want to waste IP on someone I wouldn't like, and I really wanted to like her first.

When she got put on the free list, a few of my friends and I took turns playing her - 2 didn't care for her, 1 didn't mind...and I was in love. Everything about her was perfect. She matched my playstyle as an aggressive diver, and the DFG assassination route meshed together so well. I loved her splash, her voice, her kit, her style, everything. I had found my champion.

The Kiss of Death mechanic that they introduced was the best idea they ever had with her since it matched her theme, and it only made me want to play her more! And even though they stripped DFG from the game, switched her from "assassin" to "mindless kite mage," and replaced her beautiful splash with this new one when it didn't need to change, she's still by far my favorite champion.

Impulsive, I act on quick thoughts, jump in even if I realize later it was not a good idea. Yeah, I'll learn from the mistake, but I won't regret it. Always remain lively and uplift. I tend to taunt opponents, even I'm losing because that's the only way I know how to turn tail. Not in a rude way, but still. Spam that laugh and whatnot. Other than that, we've spent countless hours together. Even if I'm losing, I'm still having fun because well... just can't have a bad time when I'm playing Tristana. We are a team. I learn and it's always challenging to play from behind. I also love what Elspeth Eastman did with the VO. I picked the champion in 2014 before the rework, looking to expand my ADC champion pool, but once I picked the champion, there was no turning back.

Lucian , because he's just so ridiculously fun to play, and there is so much theoretical creation you can do with his Lore that it is ridiculous. I LOVE IT

Shen I love his lore entirely and his Personnality... I dont know why. I just love him being the one to judge without any prejudice and his weird conception Tank/Ninja. For most of you, guys, he is boring and all but for me, Im shivering each time im doing a Good ultimate and make my team win or simply save someone and spamming laugh ( His pervs laugh LOL) or when you successfully peeled for your squishies. Another thing I Noticed while playing shen is... Im never stressed. I really love my ''Not so much'' ninja <3

RekSai I love being this badass beast causing havoc, killing things, being nigh untouchable with Pre-planned and strategic tunnels, and seeing more (and less) than anyone else.

She is just the ultimate champion for me. I love her. I would love to have RekSai as a pet, preferably not lore sized, and maybe tamer.

Zyra is my favorite champion. I like that you have to combine her spells in order to get full effect. Hate her passive.

Morgana - I like her lore. How everyone thinks she is evil, but actually she is neither good or evil. She just wanted to get away from illusion of peace and order. She wanted freedom from "perfect" .She has her own ideals that are opposite of Kayles. And she is perfect example that you shouldnt judge someone by its looks.

Katarina i love her because of her quick plays and just her personality. Also i just love the quick plays she can make and the adreneline you get from timing plays correctly. She is easy to play but still proves alot of thrill :D

Same to yas, and in the most simple way I really like pressing buttons a lot, dashing through minion waves is really just fun.

Yasuo i second Yasuo, I can relate to his lore a lot, minus the killing his brother part that is. Yasuo is extremely fun to play, and every match is a different battle, you never feel like you're just doing the same things, you always have to get into your opponents head to figure out how they play and then you decide how to beat them, so there's a huge role play aspect to him that i really enjoy, could you imagine being on a battle field and seeing this wind style champion dashing through 3 of your allies then dashing to you with a tornado ult combo ready? Terrifying! He is an absolute blast of a champion to play gameplay wise and role play wise, and despite what people say, he requires a great deal of skill and strategy to play him effectively.

God here comes the hate comments, poor Yasuo, already has a hard enough life, doesn't deserve all the hate xD
