Thought on what makes a good support?

So,as many said support is very underappreciated. and generally you can end up with a toxic ADC which makes things worse since unlike losing top your stuck with the person and they flame you more. but I have been flamed for some weird reasons [zombie-brand-facepalm] poking too much, not poking enough,CSing when the ADC backs (you at fountain, minion under turret with 10 HP. deal with it.) so I want to hear from you on what YOU like or don't like. in a support! and "supports" don't count Velkoz Lux Ryze

as a support main ill say this, some ADC just blaim you for their mistakes

ive had a draven adc try to tower dive an enemy cait and leona who where at 70% hp each and their jungler coming in (seen by my ward) i ping him back and run, he blaims me for not following him into what would have been a 2v3 under the enemy tower when they were near full hp and i was janna at 10% mana...

dont let the fools get to you, learn to read when it was your fault and how you messed up and improve with that. but taking CS while your adc was recalled isnt wrong, its the right call, as long as your last hitting or keeping it off tower to prevent tower push it all depends on the enemy's actions and team comp for if you push the lane as the support, being able to ward and what can gank you is also a factor of wither you push the lane or not.

many adc are self centered and can do no wrong (in their obviously superior opinion), when you get 1 of these adcs just ignore them and focus on how you play and what mistakes you made

Well. Mostly what I want in a support is someone who can cover for my weaknesses, and I need them to be able to read me (whether I want to go in or not). I have a personal weakness of early-game farm, and, depending on who I play is who I need. Ashe is best with Blitzcrank and Thresh, for instance, so I always appreciate those two.

But, then again, I rarely play ADC, anymore, so I basically just want a support that actually wards (and actually rounds out our team comp) so that I can see the goddamn map. My item 3363 is only going to do so much.

don't make your adc 2v1, so many times (i play support btw) supports dont position for anything or even ward, a lot of times they're essentially just taking xp and doing nothing

Support and laning tips...

  1. Communcation on you and your enemy summoners and spells cool downs.
  2. Good warding for objectives and ganks and jungler activity. (Drag, baron, enemy blue, enemy red, etc)
  3. Not leaving adc to 2v1 unless you're planning to gank mid or helping jng invade.
  4. After getting kills or objectives, shove lane to reset the wave to your side as much as possible before any enemy summoners come.

For me, the greatest supports I've had have always been ones in which I could use voice comms to talk to them. I'll give a great example: met a guy on the forums, was a top/adc main who claimed to be not "great" at the game, we do a mordy/naut botlane in which every "hook" he lands usually gets us a kill, because we're constantly talking we end up going 9-1 in our games (the one loss being when he took malz for some reason).
