Server Relocation....wat...

I noticed that since the server/gateway is moving from west coast to midwest, that players in Hawaii and Alaska as well as a good chunk of the northwest are going to have severely reduced connection speeds. This is mostly due to the fact that the East Coast is getting equally bad ping times and have been noting it for months. However, spinning the globe a little bit you will find that there are two servers for Europe, still only one for north america.

My point being is that NA is 2.5x the size of Europe on a geographical scale and the european players have two servers which they can connect to. This mind-boggles me given that Riot Games was conceived in California, USA.

I just need to know what is the reason that money has to be sunk into moving a server 1,600 miles across the country? Couldn't a new server be created in Chicago and everybody be happy, reducing this animosity between west/east and mid? I myself have read many posts from Hawaiian and Alaskan players claiming they are already about to leave since their ping is going to shoot past 200 (speculated) and me being in the northwestest part of the northwest having my own ping reach 150+?

Bear in mind that I have been up for 48 hours and I am having trouble converting my thoughts to text cuz you know how it is.

Anyways I will enjoy my last lag-less days of league of legends before the time where I wont be able to land skillshots.
