So i just watched the UOL vs CW match with UOL Vizicsacsi picking Ryze

Okay....as much as I love playing Ryze as a top laner, or spamming him in Hexakill (srsly, he's OP in it), his W snare definitely needs a hard nerf. The continuous snare shouldn't be abused a lot, it's highly toxic to be keeping an enemy in place for more than 5 seconds. Hell, even Morgana weeps from having her "10000 years of AFK" fame taken away.

All in all, I trust in Riot Balance Team to give him a proper nerf to his W. Maybe a higher cooldown or lower damage output on W, who knows.

Two notes on that:

  1. Ryze has only just become popular, so people aren't yet experienced with how to deal with him. Maybe rushing mercury threads + the tank mastery that gives tenacity solves a lot of problems.

  2. He probably has quite a few lane counters that we haven't figured out yet, like cho gath who can just W + Q every time ryze tries to start something and sustain back up.
