What ticks me off the most in solo queue.

People not playing their roles correctly.

1: Supports who don't maintain vision. Don't buy sightstones, don't use sightstones, don't de-ward, don't ward, etc. This is your responsibility, and if you aren't going to be responsible for this, let your teammates know so that somebody else can cover. The worst thing you can do is not inform your allies that you don't intend on providing vision for them. By the time your allies realize that this is missing and it is an issue, it's probably too late to come back.

2: ADC's who don't farm champions. They call for ganks to their lane, refuse to initiate or harass their lane opponents, and wait for the jungle to initiate on the enemy team, and expect some perfect initiation where they can safely engage and kill-steal then return to commence farming. I have next to no idea who taught this obscured description of an ADC role, but they need to explain it a hell of a lot better.

  • I can try. You have 5 players per team, each with (generally) 4 abilities, which deal damage. Certainly individuals who have more farm will generally deal more damage, but the contribution between every player helps*. (Oh boy, is that an understatement) It doesn't only help your team win, it ALLOWS your team to win. Contributing to ganks, kills, objectives, and team play is required by ALL players. So often do people have this mentality that the ADC's should be the most protected piece on the board, like they're the King of a Chess match. Get your head out of your you know what, this is so far from the truth it isn't even funny. By refusing to contribute to ganks when your initiator comes to your lane, you're wasting your initiators time. Because (generally) the vision placed by the enemy team is going to share awareness to the enemy and they'll retreat, causing a stalemate, of which your jungler isn't advancing in his own game at all. He's not gaining experience or gold, nobody got a hero kill, and he just wasted valuable time walking to your lane, where he now has to walk back having wasted his time. Don't be surprised when they smite the catapult and walk away, I sure as hell wouldn't be.

3: Mid's who chill middle. Mid is basically the ADC where the Jungler is the support for that lane - in a way. It's the next closest role to all surrounding objectives, and more often than not they have the least map awareness in the game. Mid is one of the most important roles in the game, that revolves around map awareness. Low and behold they aren't paying any attention to what is going on around them, much like the ADC. They should often roam with the jungler to ensure kills in side lanes, and ensure Dragons, Buffs, counter-jungling, etc.

Not having your priorities straight As I mentioned above, it's the responsibility of all of the players to use their abilities to harass and contribute to objectives (i.e. hero kills). There isn't anyone who could possibly be reading this who is so skilled that they believe they can wait to use their abilities to kill-steal because they're more valuable than their allies. You are neither more valuable nor less valuable. You're teammates, and you should start seeing yourselves as teammates. I don't give 1/10th of a single fuck if some individual is griefing through toxicity. I mean who actually gives a shit? I will still gank their lane and participate alongside them until the match is over or until they've refused to participate enough times where I deem it useless. Yes I have played the Judge and come to the conclusion where if my teammates refuse to participate as a team, that I will do the same thing. For a guy who's played more games than he ever should have, I fully well know that it is a losing strategy - yet I'll still do it. Because I believe deep down inside, 'eventually' people will come to the same conclusion I have. "You NEED to participate as a team, or you will NOT win." There are no ifs, ands, or buts. And people will have to eventually develop their own team play skills to advance to the next division. If somehow they believe they're going to get there without participating as a team, I will slow them down. It sounds horrendous, but when you play as many games as I have, you try to coach the community into playing the way that you need them to play in order to win. You may not win immediately, you will have to take two steps back to move one step forward. But if nobody learns that they need to participate as a team, you aren't getting anywhere in the first place.

Map Awareness:

Some people are absolutely clueless, and I almost believe that they're actually half blind. How often is action happening on the SAME SCREEN as someone who's casually creep farming, and refusing to participate - blows me away. Open up your eyes, and see what is going on, and for God's sake - contribute.

Playing defensively:

This one grinds the living shit out of my gears. I see this one more often than anything. This comes down to human psychology. If your enemies realize that you're a defensive type of player, they're going to memorize that, and you automatically descend down their agro radar, meaning they're less likely to attack you. Note: at first that sounds pretty good, but if you're no longer on their radar, it means somebody else is, and that individual is PROBABLY going to have to deal with MORE than their share. (By the way, this is the literal definition of carry - weight) So meanwhile you might be "farming CS and carrying", while they are dealing with more than their share because of your lack of contributing, and they are LITERALLY carrying.

If someone goes balls deep on your team, and gets instagib'd, it means your opponents abilities are on cooldown, and they are unable to engage or attack another person. There's two options. Engage and attempt to salvage what your initiator attempted to do, or at least pay respects to them. Or flee from combat, granting your opponents a clear win on an engage, while disrespecting your initiator.

Peeling for your ally who has 2.5% of their maximum health remaining...instead of fleeing faster than they can get away. I mean, what is wrong with you? This is the entire reason behind why I'm going to leave the lol community permanently. Just an adamant lack of technique and strategy amongst the player base. Your tank who has 2.5% of their max health is a hell of a lot more vulnerable than your ADC who has 100% of their max health. And you are probably going to lose the game, for refusing to peel for them because there's an extremely strong chance that your opponents won't even engage on the 100% health ADC with a tank having 2.5%. That's free auto-attacks, and low and behold, the ADC is the auto-attack champion. Very poor strategy on the ADC's part, when this happens, and extremely poor sportsmanship.

I don't disagree with anything here. One thing I would like to note / add: while vision is indeed primarily the support's job, it is not his responsibility exclusively. All roles have some responsibility here, in order of greater responsibility to lesser: support, jungler, mid, top, and ADC (yep, even you guys should buy a pink or a couple greens occasionally).

And for the last two paragraphs, it's always best to keep in mind that all situations, all fights, are dynamic. Don't give up on a fight just because your team didn't get the perfect wombo combo off to initiate, especially if the frontline is bearing the brunt of the assault. This is probably the area that I need to work on personally the most, particularly when I draw the short straw and get stuck on ADC. I tend to play scared, rather than be confident in my positioning, but props to MPendragon for pointing this out.

I can see where you are coming from and to a point understand what the problems are i have issues that I'm trying to work on to be a batter player only sad part is their are few people who will admit there problems and try to fix them. Even worse most people just don't care enough to listen to positive criticism. None the less thanks for the advice and hope this doesn't make you want to quit.

Speak up in game. You seem to have a good understanding of the general flow of the game. If you can manage to relay these things to your team without being a condescending douche, then you'll have a great chance of winning. People listen in game if you aren't rude to them (generally).

I agree with all of this except your comment that adc's aren't the most important to protect in teamfights. Try protecting that ziggs as he blows up squishies yes but then gets wrecked by tanks because he has no consistent damage. Keeping your adc alive should be the main goal unless they fed in lane, in that case you use your adc as a bait to scatter the enemy frontline. If your adc has any clue how to auto attack, they will continue doing damage consistently forever, with or without mana, also, auto attacks cant miss, so its guaranteed damage.

That being said I do fully agree with your comment that adcs shouldnt just wait to join a gank just to ks. Though a jungler can't just come to lane and expect the vayne to go in on a caitlyn when she has no health. Junglers also need to pay attention to how the lane is doing healthwise, as well as understanding that when there is a massive wave an adc is likely to take 50% if not more of their health purely to minions alone just coming to help you gank because you had no awareness...

The overall idea of this post tho is 100% completely correct. Work as a team to win games. I was talking to my friend after a game I had trolled and picked lulu adc, after my leader banned urgot, they asked why i picked lulu I said because they banned urgot. Regardless, I got pretty fed and ended up playing really well that game, I said to my friend haha i bet they were sorry they banned urgot. He replied "they probably didnt even notice, they were more worried about how they did." It's so true, people are so worried about how they themselvs are doing over actually winning matches.

Anyways overall good post man, lose some of the condescension and try to convey some of this stuff to your teammates and i believe you will win some games sir. gl man

This post was hilarious. 10/10 would read again.

That being said, I sympathize. Although as a support player, what the fucking fuck is that support doing if they don't even have SIGHTSTONE?? Motherfucker better have like a 10 minute Rabadon's or something crazy, there's no excuse for literally abandoning one of your primary jobs as a support. It's not even like it's hard to buy a sightstone, it's literally cheaper than rank 2 boots or a blasting wand/pickaxe. It pays for itself in approximately 12 minutes, assuming you're actually warding every 3 minutes.

Bit of an explanation for the mid thing, as one who does such things: I barely, if ever, leave my lane unless I've somehow just killed my lane opponent AND pushed the lane to tower AND have most of my health.

  • If I haven't killed my lane opponent, my tower will be gone by the time I get back.

  • If I haven't pushed my lane, my tower will be gone by the time I get back.

(Both of those also apply even if I've managed to take down their outer tower before the kill/push)

  • If I'm low on health, I'm more likely to die in an attempted gank than be of any help.

And that's assuming there's even a lane to gank, either pushed or has teammates in it.

Dragon I can do, since it's not as far of a trip, and the jungler or even bot can help me with my pushing lane opponent after we're done.

Well thanks for your feedback guys.

My friend and I have begun placing pink wards along the river in locations that aren't normally travelled unless your opponents invade your jungle to gank. We cover both sides that give vision to the center bushes on the left and the right. This grants enough vision to endlessly win lane, avoid being counter-jungled, ability to counter jungle. I've had the wards last for twenty minutes, relatively often. As a DotA player, I knew that buying a ward was the most inexpensive way to win your lane, it still is.

As an aggressive player, I understand my style from a strategic perspective. It's not entirely impossible for every lane to win their lane, it's relatively easy. You don't want to be static farming while your opponent static farms, you're neither benefiting your team nor hindering it. This is what I call 'rolling the dice', because that's really what your game plan is late game, to see who wins.

You want to get a dominant threshold on the match, as early as possible - really.

1: Rally your team and run to a bush along the river and get an early ward off to pick someone off for first blood. Have a %MS champ get the initial ward off. 2: Harass your lane opponents while you're waiting for creeps to get lower. (Your jungler is going to be a lot more interested ganking a lane that's already been worked on). 3: Sacrifice Risk for Reward! Understand value of assets, and an early game man advantage can result in a 3 man kill plus a dragon at the expense of a tier one tower. It's not really hindering you, since the farm received from that will allow you to take their tier one tower back. 4: Play aggressively. If your opponents notice that they're playing against aggressive opponents it's going to cause them to play more defensive. Basically what this means is they're going to turtle, giving your team free reign over the lanes, objectives, jungle, etc. (This is also what happens, when you yourself plays defensive, you're granting your opponents free reign over the majority of the farm. A strong reason I suggest not doing so. 5: Kill the enemy teams' carry. More often than not I will single handedly dive the enemies ADC & APC (If I can get them both), and the vast majority of the time I will die for doing so (unless my team knows how to follow suite). Regardless of the fact, it's beneficial to my team knowing that hard DPS is out of the fight. It gives a moral boost, and they press on and win the engagement.

This post is highly entertaining. It also makes me want to avoid PvP at any and all costs, lol.

I mean sure PvP would be fun for a while as long as I AM the idiot who is screwing up and pissing off the original poster.

Eventually I'd become good at the game. The ensuing descent into hell sounds unbearable!

So thank you!
