Why is the matchmaking system placing me with people who have no desire to win?

I am just so confused right now. I cannot for the life of me understand why it is my teammates have no desire to win the game, yet every desire to blame the loss on me, when I am giving the most effort to win the game.

You CANNOT possibly tell me you are trying harder to win the game, by free farming lane minions, while I am out roaming around the map, denying jungle buffs, ganking lanes, shutting people down, kiting the entire team around the map on my own.

I mean you have GOT to start taking initiative. Honestly, by the time the enemy team catches up to me and shuts me down, it SHOULD NOT even be worthwhile for them to have done so. YET IT IS, because you haven't done anything with the time I have bought you.

Like I've been pushing tier 3 towers on my own to destroy inhibitor, and had the 4 most farmed enemy players come to shut me down, while my team danced around the least farmed enemy player around our base. They didn't even kill him, because they were too afraid to. And then they were saying that I should be following them around. "Dude, i'm the one who is carrying you guys. I have 600 Attack Damage for God's sake, I am not going to hold hands with you sitting in our base, I have more important things to do, such as winning the game. If you actually had an interest in winning the game, you would probably join me." (Continues to defend base against lane minions)

What ELO hell did I end up in?

I am Platinum 5, was Platinum 4, was in my promos to go into Platinum 3. Like, considering it's past the point of where the average player is, I thought it's safe to say people were 'better than average'. I'm starting to doubt my assumptions, I really am.

You just don't understand. I will record a video right now, and I can just about guarantee that the next match will be all the footage that I require to show others that my teammates are royally screwing up, over and over again.

I mean it gets to the point where we are split pushing at their doorstep, and the enemy still comes chasing after me, outside of their base, and into the lane. What is my team doing? They are literally standing at the tier 3 tower, without attacking it. And I have their primary damage dealers, chasing me on the other side of the base. And this kind of shit happens over and over again. And I lose matches because of this. I'm thinking you've got to be kidding me. We have Baron Buff, 5 Dragon Stacks, and my team is throwing the game, and I lose because of it.

You have to envision, that yes, I am losing my mind, because this is Unreal Tournament all over again.

I literally think people intentionally play unskillfully, just to be able to report other people for negative attitude.

I'll give you the most difficult challenge you have ever heard of.

I've said this before, but this example here is why League needs to adopt (in a sense) the Halo style of matchmaking.

What Halo does is introduce an element that basically says "Why am I here?" You pick options based on whether you want to really win, practice for more serious ranked matches, or you just want to jerk off and kill your brain cells for 40 minutes.

All of these options are fine, but I think MM taking that extra step to group those types of players together can create a better experience for everyone involved.

If it's understood that everyone on your team that you queued with has the same objective in mind, be it wanting to try some LCS level plays or see if AD Veigar really does work, that increases the QoL for all players.

Before anyone asks, how can we mitigate trolls? Well if you pick the option of a more serious game and end up feeding excessively and trolling with your build, then your punishment is swifter and much more severe than the average punishment.

Good question... happens to me too.

i agree, oddly enough ive been paired with some of the dumbest players ive seen.. like they have no knowledge of roles or versatility, how to build, map awareness< the whole 9... Its weird cause i received a ryze skin for positive play and now my teammates are on a steady decline.

my very first ban was from a game in which everyone on my team fed at least 10 kills, none had more than 1 kill, all four refused to surrender and reported me at the end for 'afk'. they would walk into lane with less than one bar of health and stand there to get killed, but they didn't get in trouble for that, I got in trouble for not wanting to play with them. that was like 3 or 4 years ago. what you're describing has been how the game has always been for me.

Thing is, this has happened so many times to me, that yes I have retaliated in fury and anger. These guys are holding me back from my Quest to becoming a professional video gamer, and they are doing it intentionally. Why? I don't know. They realize that they'll never amount to anything in life, so they do what they feel is appropriate, which is putting up obstacles for people they don't even know, to prevent them from achieving their goals.

So I've been chat restricted, and I still am, and I don't think that it will ever be removed. When it ends, a recurring restriction will take it's place. It's a loop I can't break, because I only have 3 to 5 messages at a time, and one of the most common things that I have to say is "What are you guys doing. Open up your eyes." People can't accept the simplest of criticism, and it either actually irritates them to the point where they feel like they are being harassed, or they are as I mentioned above, intentionally playing beneath their ability just to be able to report others.

And i'm the toxic one? You know what, I really don't care. Yes I know I have some issues, and they will be next to impossible to work on until I can start working on what I need to be working on, which is my individual skill. But I can't work on that, because I have to dumb down my own ability just to be playing on these idiots' level. And their toxicity derives toxicity. Yes I will bitch you out, but I will also be carrying your ass, because I actually have a playbook filled with game changing plays you've never learned before, because you've only been playing in the moba gaming entertainment world for 1 or 2 years. I've been in it for 9 years, i've developed plays, and lots of them.

I mean shit I have a Top Laner, who's blaming the entire game loss on me, because I didn't gank his lane, and he's getting the shit kicked out of him. Open up your eyes buddy, so it everybody else. I have 3 lanes I have to defend, a jungle I don't want getting counter jungled, and a Dragon I can't afford my opponents capturing. You think I should be willing to assist as your beck and call? I have the most responsibilities in the game. Play defensively until I can gank your lane, is this involves hugging your tower, and farming what CS you can, so be it. That's what LCS players do, watch a video. Or go roam, abandon your lane, and let the enemy destroy your tower. Try and team fight and see if we can get you some kills that way.

But no, arrogance is a virtue. I will play aggressively in the lane i'm being thrashed in, and continue to feed, and when I finally decide to group up, I will tower dive and die, because I don't have the correct items to survive. And I will blame the jungler because they didn't gank my lane when I asked them to.

When people think of a person who is verbally abusive, or has a chat restriction or has been punished, or suspended for 'toxic behavior', they think of;

"Learn to fucking play the game, you idiot."

When actually, the only statement required is something such as;

"What are you guys doing?". - ""Defending Base."" Roll Eyes, "Against what, lane minions?" ""Can you group up with us?"" Drops jaw wide open, "You really need a hand against regular lane minions?"

You want to hear something I never say, but actually mean when I say "What are you clowns doing?"

It means, I need your sick plays alongside me in order to win this game. I mean if my "toxicity" drops a players ability to perform to the point where they're just wandering around like a mindless idiot, they were never going to make it anywhere in the moba gaming world to begin with, so leave now.

"But I play for fun." - ""Refusing to play to the best of your ability is fun for you?"" Go join a cult, and drink the eternity tea, please.

This is an epidemic in 3s. I swear most of the time I que up I get a duo que as my teamates which of course makes me the odd one out with 0 possibility of negotiating with them at any point over anything.

Annoying common example: They pick and ad carry and a support for a duo lane and I'm forced to play top and know that we have no jungle and I will of course be the primary gank target of the enemy jungler since I'm one person and bot lane is two people (who are probably farming it tower based on experience...). This is incredibly selfish of them, sure I get that the only reason they qued up for 3s was to practice for a botlane duo in 5s but its like these people refuse to knowledge that THEIR CHOICE put's me into a tough spot... and of course they will be the ones talking shit and double reporting if god I get ranked over and over or god forbid lose lane to someone who is legitimately better than me. Best case scenario is that the enemy jungler leaves me alone since I'm playing passively and the enemy jungler gets fed off two jungles with the enemy laner getting a cs lead since I can't afford to take any risks at all knowing that the enemy jungler is probably inside out own jungle waiting behind the wall to jump in.

Another example is the idiots who think that it's somehow clever or unexpected of a good idea at all to rush out instantly to try and get to the enemy team's mud bush and try to ambush them there, and if their third teammate isn't on board with the dumb strategy or is slow off the mark and the morons die then of course it's the non premade member's fault.

We just finished discussing we need to kill Soraka, before we can kill Jinx, or else she will just continuously heal. It's a 1.25 second cooldown heal.

Goes on Jinx, and continues going on Jinx, and low and behold, drops her down to a fraction of health, kept alive by, you guessed it, Soraka.

We almost had her. No, you never had her. Because you did not follow instruction.

Ok, well we will focus her down next time.

A few minutes later... Team fight breaks out, we kill Soraka, but Jinx is on the back line firing down shots of hellfire at us. Oh, we were easily overcome. Well...why..is...our ADC...solo pushing top?

And the game is over, at that point in time, it's already over. Because you need to develop the skills of team fighting with the random people you play the game with in Solo Queue, in order to find the synergy you need to win the game late game. If you do not develop that synergy, it snowballs the enemy team out of control. And of course you don't want to surrender, because we're going to lose the next time fight even if you participate, because they snowballed. And then we will have to wait for the vote to pass again, because you failed to surrender the first time.

I have video footage, but it's my first time recording gameplay. Does anyone know of a good editing software program so I can crop my footage, because it is too large to put into what uploading area I can.

Yes, it did take me one game to acquire the footage required. Even though we won the game, an ally illogically refised to peel for me, even though I peeled for my ally just previously. He just took high tail and ran away, even when the two of us could have slayed the opponent.

Increase your mmr by winning. That problem also happens a lot less if you play ranked games. Although even low mmr ranked games still have a lot of players who have no idea how to win, even though they're trying to win.

Did you leave a game recently (intentionally or otherwise)? A while back, I had an internet hiccup which caused leaverbuster to trigger (because one offense is apparently enough nowadays). Afterward, I noticed my teammates got considerably worse for a while and I also had a lot more leavers.

Anyway, I find when you get teams like those, you have to give them very deliberate directions, and continue doing so the whole way through. Spamming pings won't get you liked, but it will win you more games. If it comes down to it, duo queue with someone you can trust, and you can at least ensure that one of your teammates doesn't suck.
