Leaverbusters low priority queue

So, i understand the concept and am ok with the general idea of a low priority queue.

What i am not ok with is a popup in my face preventing me from typing in the lobby.

See, i am not the person who left games. I am in queue with someone who did. Why am I being punished by a popup preventing me not only to use chat in the client but use ANYTHING in the client?

Is this just lazy coding? I am appalled! You practically tell me that you dont want me to queue up with someone in a LPQ. @Lyte, can you elaborate why this locks up client functionality? Is there a deeper meaning i fail to understand?

On the surface it seems intended that way so that low priority is a true punishment, like detention where you sit and do nothing to think about what said person has done. However, all it does is make teammates wonder what the heck happened to get that long a low priority que and make people ticked off in game.

Agree with OP 100%. I don't have a problem making toxic players have to wait in a low priority queue. I do have a problem with queing up with one (who's a friend) and am unable to access any of Leagues functions while I wait.

i really do not understand the radio silence on this issue. Riot, you are enforcing a collective punishment. Do you really think that this is the right way to handle things?

If i queue up with a friend in a 20 min LPQ, he is aware that he is making me wait. dont you think that is punishment enough? do you really need to lock up client functionality for the duration of the wait time? What is the point?
