I really like the idea of support and had a plan to play support as my main role when I started playing ranked this season.
TBH that is probably still gonna be my main role when I play normals with friends but I cant imagine playing ranked in solo queue as a support. Maybe it is bc I am a low elo newb but there is just no way to win consistently.
No I am not gonna rage on the stereo type of selfish stupid ADC's, that will always be luck of the draw for any role, the problem as I see it is team comp. Players at this level too often refuse to be the tank, so as a sup you are almost 100% of the time gonna be asked to fill that role.
I actual like being the tank and it is one of the things that drew me initially to the support role, but here are the 2 common scenarios that mess the whole thing up. First: You get a really aggressive ADC who wants you to play a healing support like Sona Soraka but your other 3 team mates are Teemo Ahri Rengar and your opponents have already picked Braum & Chogath what can you do? Second: You are the sole tank on your team so you are building Full tank/with sup items. At the 10 min mark things are going bad in every lane and you are the only one that can survive the team fights even though all 5 of you are hugging the mid turret against 3 unfortunately fed enemy champs probably while the other 2 split push or get another dragon. Maybe if I was a lot better at this game I could sell my Items, change my build and carry as a Alistar or Blitzcrank even playing from behind, but as I am now I don't see that happening.

So personally I'd rather play as a bad Top, mid, or jg because that is still more fun than playing as a bad support.

Support life is hard. Pick what you think is the best for the comp and hope they don't rage.
