Why does nobody play swain?

I looked up swains history. HE HAS NEVER BEEN POPULAR IN HIS ENTIRE EXISTENCE. Besides vel koz and bard, swain is the only champion that has never been nerfed. I don't understand why nobody plays him, his only downside is slightly short range and lack of mobility, but otherwise he is pretty strong. He is almost impossible to kill in fights since he heals for ~500 health per half second and he can easily 100-0 any squishy with a e-w-q-r combo and he has massive consistent damage. He is a pretty strong lane bully and scales nicely as well. He is a fairly powerful ap bruiser that can go top, mid, and under certain circumstances jungle. Does anybody know why nobody plays him, he is kinda ugly but nowhere near / level.

Please stop mentioning Swain. Do not want this champ becoming FoTM.

I've started using Swain as a safe off-main (by safe I mean safe from Riot just gutting him through FoTM nerfs. He is so unpopular and doesn't appear in the LCS so he is almost guaranteed not to get nerfed.)

Swain is extremely strong but requires lots of farm and is heavily resource intensive as he runs out of mana almost as fast as a Dota2 hero. Also his early laning-phase CS'ing is extremely painful and it is also painful late game because your bronze V allies will constantly rush in to steal all your CS when you try to farm and Swain isn't that good at stopping allies from stealing CS.

If swain becomes FoTM he will be immediately nerfed, if you enjoy using swain just continue to use him and don't mention him again.

He's one of the few champions left that heavily rely on resource management, csing with auto attacks with no AD early-most of the mid game?

I honestly don't know. He's very strong.

Why aren't people playing Heimerdinger who has a disgustingly high winrate and simplistic/effective play pattern?

Probably for the best, to be honest lol.

(Seriously, don't ever talk about Swain. For the love of all that is holy, please don't. Plenty don't like him as is, we don't want anything to happen.)

Swain is my most played champ (I think. or second, at least). Some ppl know how powerful he can be. ;)

right but I meant he'll never be FoTM because LCS people tend to not get caught by him, so they don't play him.

because once you get to the point where people know how to play against him, hes not as useful. Sure, at bronze-silver, people will dive that swain who built item 3027 item 3151 item 3110 item 3065 item 3152 item 3257 but once you go up, people understand to not get close to him, don't all bunch up in one spot so he can waddle in and ult, etc.
