How does this even happen?

RIOT has earned over 1 BILLION dollars from League of Legends, and that was 3 years ago, but you're going to tell me that their game is lagging? How does that even happen? Also, how are you going to literally punish people because of YOUR game is having a fucking pissy fit? I'm sure it's not hard to disable leaver buster when your servers are going to shit, but that's just me.

It turns out they run the biggest and most complicated gaming network on the face of the planet, and maybe they deserve the benefit of the doubt.

I'm not saying it's a DDoS, but if it were, you should know that those are so effective because of how simple and difficult to stop they are. No server is immune to these, the preventative measures for them greatly interfere with the normal latency so isn't an option; they have to be handled as they happen.

As for turning on Loss Prevention, I don't know what their requirements for enabling it is. This sounds like a situation where they would, though. Honestly, if you see a server issue pop up in the Notifications you should just avoid playing until it's gone.

you seem to know next to nothing about server maintenance and where we stand with current technology, I'd learn a bit more before blowing your top and ranting at a company for failing to provide a free service for a single day

OR, just disable the whole game. Notice too, how vague stuff is:

  • Well, we are having some sort of problem (btw, you probably shouldn't Q for anything cause you will probably get screwed).

  • Several hour later - OH, well, we still have said problem, so um, we are gonna take down ranked (btw, you probably shouldn't Q for anything else cause you will probably get screwed).

  • Private Rito meeting - We make about 180k per hour on skin sales, we can't take the game down...maybe they wont notice a problem.
