This "Get out of Bronze thing..."

That is something Riot created with the dumb ladder system.

When i started in season two i worked hard to get "INTO" Bronze.

You say: "WHAT AERO? INTO BRONZE? NO ONE WANTS TO BE IN BRONZE"

Today no one wants to be in Bronze because Bronze is a given, something you do not have to earn.

Used to be that Bronze started at 1250 elo (elo is kind of todays mmr) When i started in Season 2, you had to pass that 1250 barrier (no dumb promos, just elo gain) in order to get ranked rewards.

Riot consciously made Bronze meaningless. Contrary to what Lyte preaches, Riot created flaming based on ranked standing by creating a bottom caste everyone looks down upon.

This is what it used to be:

Bronze: Between 1250 and 1399 (3v3: 1249-1409, pre-made 5v5: 1249-1409) (Top 25%)

Silver: Between 1400 and 1519 (3v3: 1410-1519, pre-made 5v5: 1410-1499) (Top 10%)

Gold: Between 1520 and 1899 (3v3: 1520-1699, pre-made 5v5: 1500-1749) (Top 3%)

Platinum: 1900 and above (3v3: 1700+, pre-made 5v5: 1750+) (Top 0.2%)

Bronze was the top 25%, not the bottomfeeder cesspool Riot made it today!!!

Maybe we should go back to that, @Riot @Lyte

What do you think?

No, I'm pretty sure 1200ish was silver back then. I say this because back in season 2, I played just enough games to get ranked and put in 1200ish range and thats how i got my silver rewards. ~1500 was considered gold, ~1700 was plat, and 2000+ was diamond. And everything below 1200 was considered bronze

If they got rid of normals, I could see unranked being added below bronze. I'm not sure I'd make bronze the top 25% though.

I do think there should be an unranked but its not like bronze being the bottom changed anything other than the words used to put people down. The people who use bronze as an insult would use w/e riot decides to call the bottom or just simply call people bad. The flaming happened before those changes.

If you take away a killers gun he doesn't stop being a killer he just starts stabbing people with a knife.

No, bronze has always been bad. Bronze was top 25% back then because the vast majority of players were unranked and it's still something like that today. If you're bronze, it means you have some very specific issues playing the game that you can't solve, you're not better than silver and not better than gold, so wouldn't it be correct to think that a silver/gold player is better than you? Bronzes today would be the unranked 600 elo players in elo hell.

That was a considerably better system.

Can we go back to season 2 Mordekaiser, while we are at it?

We need a participation division.

MegaManYYZ9/22/2015, 4:56:47 PM1 votes

you are also ignoring that there are even higher divisions now, thus bumping every division down a peg or two.

You're ignoring the fact that a long time ago there was a "rank" below Bronze... The only difference between now and then is the lowest rank is now called Bronze instead of Unranked. Although, that made people feel bad and Riot isn't going to unrank people for being at the bottom, all you're suggesting is renaming the lowest rank which would literally change nothing other than people saying "get out of xxxx" instead of "get out of Bronze".
