That seems really weird. I checked my account as well since i own CS Riven, I guess they one we originally own is the special one and the newer one is just the original one (without the border/crown) it would have been nice if they gave us original the newer one!

ye it seems like kind of a rip off. if i own the original the new one should be given to me as well for no cost. it sort of makes sense when you own the og. it sounds greedy but it really isnt.

They updated championship riven, so all players who had her before will get the flashy one with the border and all that. Anybody buying her now gets the basic championship riven...

ye but i liked owning all the skins . if i own the og i was sure riot would give me the new one for free. its basically a copy of my own with less features now.

and id like all copies of the skins owned. i dont understand why it costs money tho. its legit the lowest a company can go by already re releasing a skint hey specifically said wont come back (which i dont mind now) but then making the original owners pay for the new one with no compensation of the old one but a shitty crown and nonexistent animations and a border no one will ever give a shit about.

It's the same skin. Frankly, I'd be surprised if they even allowed somebody with the original to buy the new one. I would think it should register as already owned.

I'd look at it like the foil version of cards in a CCG. It's the same card. Having the foil doesn't mean you don't still own that card. It just means you have a rarer version of it.

i thought so too. i was already under the impression that id get the new one for free for obvious reasons. guess not. even that is too hard for them to accomplish. pax tf when?????????????

Okay, I just re-read the announcement thread on the PBE and it does say

Original owners will get the “vintage” version of her updated model and the new version as well.

While I personally find it pointless to have both, you're right in that both should be available to you.

It's probably because they haven't sent them out or are in the process of doing so. It takes Riot awhile to make all accounts that are eligible for those things to receive them. You shouldn't expect anything immediately.

It's really not a better version... most people hate the crown cause it's so small and hard to see, plus the slightly brighter ult is nothing, I tested it on the pbe and its a joke. The load-in boarder is pretty nice but nothing special.

I could have had it myself if I owned her back in 2012 but I don't, so I have the 2016 version. As long as I have the skin is all that matters to me :)

Also, if you really own all the skins, what's another 975 RP to you anyway?

its money i could have not spent on a company that continues to scam its customers and lie to them?

i didnt plan on buying anything but champ zed for the next year but now i have to think to buy a skin i already own but the company didnt have the decency to give me the new one they made for the cash grab.

Technically the one with the crown and border is the old one, not the new. This method is just easier than making it a new skin, adding it to all accounts that already had CS Riven, then removing the old one from those accounts, THEN putting the old one in the shop again.

Aside from the "gotta-catch-em-all" achievement, is there any real reason to own both versions of the skin?
