Lol, I lost 6 promo series into Gold before I quit playing the game entirely because every time I played a promo game I waqs matched with people who didn't care at all about winning, and sometimes actually wanted to lose. Hell, I even was matched with someone who literally just came out of his placement matches and trolled. Now I just browse the Boards seeing if the game is getting any better, and it seems that it's just getting worse.

Duo queue isn't going to change your situation, OP. All it does is lower your team's MMR / increase the other team's MMR so you have to work twice as hard at winning. You're still gonna find a bunch of trolls and immature kids in your matches
Welcome to riot, where if you're not in the world championship, they don't care about you. I've had to do my bronze 2 to 1 promo's 4 times because of trolls.
Sometimes it helps to just be nice though, if you have trolls or players that are doing weird stuff like following you around in the jungle for no reason, or a random duo mid lane, if you can adapt to it somehow usually the game will be a lot less stressful.
