Life at home sucks, and is likely to get worse.

Picture this: you're over 25, living at home with your parents after obtaining your degree in Economics, but the economy is such that job availability is poor, so you're unemployed. Your parents, on the other hand, are livid at the fact that you are basically "doing nothing but gaming all day" when, in fact, you are doing plenty of household contributions. Sadly, your parents are the type that simply are never satisfied with your accomplishments; they always want you to do more and be "perfect".

Welp, that's my life in a nutshell. I give my dad a little bit of lip when he's being condescending and verbally abusive? He gets physical. Frankly, next time he does that, I'm considering filing assault charges, even if it's only him shoving me.

I'd LOVE to be able to move out and get my own apartment, but with my insufficient income, no landlord would ever consider letting me stay. And the problem with getting jobs that involve clerical work? "You don't have enough experience" is what most of those employers say. Well how the fuck do you get experience if you aren't hired in the first fucking place?!

Life sucks, doesn't it?

The same type of thing happened to me after graduating college. My parents adopted the "You graduated College, you should be able to get a job, and if you don't your a horrible person."

I feel for you. My best advice is to get a crappy job to make some cash, and tell them to fuck off. It worked great for me, and oddly, enough, improved my relationship with them.

You can apply to a local fast food place or grocery store and get hired pretty fast lol...

My parents got mad at me while I was working a crummy job, so I blamed their generation on making the economy suck, they are baby boomers after all.

Have you tried temp agencies? The work can be kind of erratic, but if you can fill the jobs as requested, you can pick up better ones and at some companies, if you can get a longer-term temp job, they'll let you know about full time positions you can apply for.

Volunteer work, it pads your resume and gives you a sense of accomplishment and when you do get a job you can use it as a tax deduction. Get an internship, build a network of contacts, send out your resume to employers who aren't even looking just to get some contacts.

Most of getting a job now entails who you know, how well you communicate, and how good you look on paper. Volunteering does all of that for you as does internships.
